NOTE: If ur not in the mood to read the whole post, just read the highlighted parts, ur contribution will be greatly appreciated OK, seeing as there's been much controversy over the RAW mark needed to obtain an aligned mark of 90%, I have created this thread so that we "the class of 2005" can...

3 unit skills???...hmmm No, not really, besides what excatly do u guys mean by saying the exam "required 3 unit skills"?.... Yes, after the exam I thought it may have been a little harder than previous yrs, but i knew ,my problem in the exam was time more so than difficulty... I had...

    band 6 cutoff

    A mark of 73/120 got aligned to a mark of 82% in 2003 not a band 6! a band 6 in 2003 was prolly mid 90's/120

    band 6 cutoff

If ur confident u'll get above 115 then theres prolly a 95% chance u'll get an aligned mark of 98%... I think a 115-116 RAW would equate to a 98%... If a state ranking is what u were hoping for, u may very well be within the reach of a top 20 state ranking with a mark of 116-117 and above...

The most important question of em' all.

The marks don't go up or down depending on the canditure! Its more to do with the difficulty of the exam itself, not the state performance, so If the highest was 90%... and let's say the exam was easy, there's no reason for the 90% to go up to 97% ...despite the fact that the whole state...

    How did everyone go? (Poll)

Yeh I used 2 for question 3, I used 16 all up!!!... Difficulty, I'd say it wasnt very different to past yrs, but thats without taking into consideration the time limit... Lengthwise... it was very long, I knew i could do question 10 (first 7 marks)...But i ran out of time, as for the...

    Help Please!!

thanks and good luck to u too! although keep in mind, maths Ext 2 is an extremnely difficult subject, It's quite normal to have low marks in 4 unit, the band 6 cut-off for 4unit is very low compared to other subjects... I would think that a 50% RAW mark in 4 units maths is prolly excellent...

    Help Please!!

If u do 12 units and u stuff up 4 unit maths real bad... then it won't be counted only ur best 10 units are counted towards ur UAI (not ur highest 10 units... ur best! i.e the ones that help ur UAI out the most) They do not take 1 unit of each maths... 3 units is a 2unit subject when...

hmmmm... if u asked me this question the day before the exam I would have replied, YES!.... however now that im able to think logicaly again with english over I say no! 20 minutes extra per response is a little overboard... If there was to be a time increase the maximum would be 15 minutes...

    Bands

I assume u mean to ask if 75% is the highest in the state? The aligning of marks is not based on state performance, its based on the difficulty of the exam, but generally if 75% was the highest examination mark in this yrs HSC for example, then obviously the exam was extremely difficult, thus...

    A few random tips

hmmmmmmm.... I'll have a go at that, but i still prefer to go from the start, I don't mind 3 hours of maths. there could be a downfall to doing it using ur method. working backwards, u may encounter a few poroblems on the way and spend a little more time than u probably should have on one of the...

RAW MARK - for 85 in eng. adv.??05'

I think it'd be a little difficult to determine the RAW mark for english (especially english), but i would think that generally the RAW marks would usually get aligned to something similar each year...I don't think this years was 'easier' than any other year, personally i dont see much...
