Senate Committees - Controlling the Agenda

Though it seems as though these changes have come out of the blue, one may say that they have been on the cards for some time (see here and here). For the sake of balance, it should be made clear that during its years in power, the ALP had one of its own Senators chair most Senate Committees...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Re: 2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Beazley? It's the Australian Labor Party, not the Australian Labour Party.

    Work 1003

So, are there any semester 1 WORK1003 students on the forum? If so, what was (or is if you are still to get through the exam) the unit like in terms of the lecture content and the nature of the assessments? Basically, I plan on taking the unit this coming semester yet I have an unfortunate...

Questions to People With a Religion/No Religion.

Don't confuse faith and religion, Katie. Though linked, they aren't one and the same.

Questions to People With a Religion/No Religion.

I can't delete something merely because I don't like it, and I'm afraid that, despite sam04u's devious intentions, I do not consider this to be the thread for such debates when they have all been done to death before (the Muslims in Australia thread is a case in point). If you'd like to make a...

Questions to People With a Religion/No Religion.

Serius, this isn't the thread, and in the future you would be best to match such grand statements with more than a statement of flair - a justification or two would be a good start, I would say. Still, as I said, this isn't the thread. Everyone, if the topic continues to stray into debates...

    Semester 2 Timetable '06

Clash on a Monday and my two History units "do not have reliable details" or some such rubbish, but these annoyances aside the timetable doesn't look too bad. I wish that I could do something about the clash, but both units are quite important as far as I'm concerned. Oh well.

Shooting Brazillian man was a "mistake"

There's no need for event-specific threads this old to be bumped. If you'd like to discuss shoot to kill policies in general, please create a thread.

    different types of passes

As the Sarah said, ultimately a pass is just a pass, but for assessments that marked on a + or - basis as opposed to the use of an actual mark, what you have said is a fair approximation of the spread within the pass range.

    A Philosophical Perspective On Existence.

It may have been more interesting, yes, but that isn't to say that it was 'better' than such posts when you consider the fact that transcendent was clearly looking for a serious attempt from all who take the time to answer the questions. Edit: You have had your say, and I have had mine. This...

    A Philosophical Perspective On Existence.

Brogan... Never mind. Edit: Actually, no. This is the NCAP forum, not the non-school forum. Treat it seriously, please. The above applies to everyone, by the way.

    Reforming the media sector

In general, people only seem to be interested in discussions about religion or those threads that take the form of a survey :(. Oh well.

    Reforming the media sector

News Ltd reversal on media changes I'm hoping that there is someone out there who may find this interesting.

    The official IR reform thread!

Labor's Spotlight stunt exposed That that particulr particule example has been exposed as a gross exaggeration doesn't change the fact that the figures and the possibility of such a wage loss still stand. Risky Business Wayne Swan: A lot of pain, no gain Labor onside with workers: Beazley -...

    Does God exist?

If that's the case, then please don't post if you are only going to dismiss another member's argument with a content-free post. This (and my previous post) goes for everyone else, too.

    Does God exist?

It's a cyclical thread, transcendent, and as much as this may annoy you, it's never going to end. Just in general - Remember, keep the 'attacks' above board and focused on the argument, not the user.

    Scared..

It was actually a general statement as opposed to a critical comment - I was just trying to stress that constructive help need not be phrased in a long-winded or overly-supportive manner and that there are times when a blunt and seemingly 'mean' statement is more than a reasonable way to address...
