    First-year IT Camp 2006

First year IT camp is for all new students starting an IT course at UTS (including BScIT, BIT, BBusiness/BComputing and combined BScIT degrees with Int Studies and Law). Those people that got an offer for one of these courses should have received a letter containing information about the...

    First-year IT Camp 2005

Well, the whole point of the camp is to meet new people and make new friends. So try and make some friends at the camp because those are the people you'll see in your subjects (at least for the first year). If you don't make friends at the camp, then you'll be going to uni on the first day...

    Enrolled online...now what

Check out http://www.orientation.uts.edu.au/ for info on orientation. Also, some faculties like IT, Engineering and Law have orientation camps, which I highly recommend you go to, and that is pretty much your faculty orientation as well.

Enrolment day - questions about subject picking.

You select your classes on enrolment day. Those available places won't go down until you guys start choosing classes and also the current students get their preferences allocated to them (which happens tomorrow for the current students, so keep an eye out on the timetable site for changes to...

    Enrolled online...now what

I'm sure you'll live :). For now just fully read the handbook entry for your course and plan your subjects and timetable from the links I mentioned above. That will help you a lot on your enrolment day and you can get it over and done with in 1-2 hours rather than spending the whole day doing...

Enrolment day - questions about subject picking.

For pre-enrolment preparation, follow these steps: - Now, look at the handbook entry for your course at http://www.handbook.uts.edu.au . Find your course and bookmark it because this will be a very important page for you. Read the whole page and it should help you understand your course...

    Enrolled online...now what

Doesn't really matter when you enrol for main round offers, so don't worry. You enrol into your subjects as normal and if they are core subjects then there should be plenty of space. The only problem with a later enrolment is that there might be less spaces left in the popular timeslots, because...

    Plz Explain

Refer to one of the other threads for information about enrolment. You'll choose your subjects on enrolment day and enrol into your classes online. You can then change your times afterwards if you want. First year subjects are all core, so yeh it's pretty fixed. You'll have to choose an...

    Enrolled online...now what

Yup, just wait until enrolment and refer to one of the other recent threads I posted in about looking at the handbook and looking at what subjects you can enrol in. Also, would be good to look at the timetable and work out what times you want to choose for classes...

    Hey. New UTS student here

Well basically, you get exempted for the subjects that you can, and then you just enrol in some subjects for this year. Along with Marketing, you can enrol in some 2nd year subjects. I mean, the way that the BBusiness majors are structures, means that there's not really any specific 2nd/3rd year...

    Hey. New UTS student here

    1. Depends on what subjects you did at UWS. For any equivalent subjects, you can get an exemption for it. You should be able to get as many as you are able too I think. Bring your transcripts and subject outlines if you have them. Check the enrolment site where you registered after you got your...

    Accounting Major

Don't underestimate a major. The major is 8 subjects, along with the 2 core Accounting subjects, makes at least 10 accounting related subjects, so it is fairly full on. Sure you can do an extra accounting sub-major (if you're just doing the single degree), but this could be a waste of time as...

Enrolment day - questions about subject picking.

I'm assuming you have already accepted your offer and you have a student ID and e-mail. If not, then do that first obviously. Now, look at the handbook entry for your course at http://www.handbook.uts.edu.au . Find your course and bookmark it because this will be a very important page for...

    UTS General Q

There's some information in the handbook. Besides that, ask the language faculty I suppose. You have to choose your first year subjects in enrolment day yes, but you can change say the Spring semester ones later if you want. You may have to select your minor as well, but again you can change...

    UTS Email: Account Activation?

Give it a bit of times. Sometimes it takes a little while after you register for e-mail accounts to activate and propogate through a server. Give it 24 hours after you register I guess. Have you all accepted your offer? (ie. Step 1).

    Computing and Business

Thanks for all your useful replies ragnarok. No, you don't have to do Maths Ext 1, infact you'll easily get my having done Maths or General Maths. You'll probably find more maths in Business (like statistics and finance), rather than in IT where all you'll do is the stuff that ragnarok mentioned.

    UTS General Q

Have you had a look at the handbook entry for your course? It will tell you what you can and can't do. For your course, the link is below: http://www.handbook.uts.edu.au/dab/ug/c10053.html It seems like you can do a sub-major, and you have a list to choose from. One of them is CBK90495...

    part time?

janesta, just ask at enrolment if you can change to full time. It shouldn't be a problem since you're still at the same campus and it's still the same course. Still put the full-time course down as a late round preference though, but hopefully UTS will just let you transfer internally. If you...

    2006 UTS Offers

Congrats to all you UTS people. Hope to see some of you around, especially those of you doing an IT/Combined course :p

    UTS Late-Round Offers

Well there aren't any listed vacancies for that course, so whether they take any late round offers is up to them, but just put it as your first preference anyways and see how you go. Some of the Business combined degrees have vacancies though.
