Can Labor win the 2016 federal election?

Yeah, and you get an election every 3 years to decide who gets to run the country until the next election. Just wait til the damn election comes around. That's the point I'm trying to make. If you want to make Australia vote for a new PM now (after just one year), make elections an annual thing...

Dude snaps at girls for calling him Harry Potter

Wow, the guy definitely did go over the top with that. Although what the girls did was pretty dumb too. Just do your own thing, and don't annoy others. "The injury has left a scar on Leah's face that will be there for years." Hopefully a physical reminder to her of what happens if she tries to...

Can Labor win the 2016 federal election?

The laptops weren't even that great, could barely do anything with them :/ I reckon if you're going to do something, you do it well and not half-heartedly, which is what the Labor govt seemed to do with the laptops. That's funny, because you Labor supporters want Abbott out of power EVEN...

    Fail or what?? Engineering USYD

Yup, you will need to repeat engineering computing, it's a compulsory subject. Pretty much every 1st year engineering subject you need to pass to get an engineering degree.

Is Barack Obama the solution or the problem for the New World Order?

I sincerely hope, for your sake, that you don't actually believe this.

    Aerospace Job Opportunities

lol pls. It's Mechanical Engineering, except that one subject per year changes to a space related subject from your 2nd year and onwards. It's like an add-on, if you'd like to see it that way.

    Aerospace Job Opportunities

I'm not sure exactly what the numbers are (or the source, but I remember the source was trustworthy), but I heard that only 15% of people who get aeronautical engineering degrees actually get into the aviation industry after getting their degree. Of course 85% don't get unemployed, they just go...

Muslim beheads woman in in Oklahoma

Oh the irony. While I agree with you on that point, it doesn't allow you to make the assumption that "Australians" have already started to violently attack Muslims. After all, out of the millions who are Australian and would cause no harm to another person, a measly amount of "extremists" seem...

What course require a lot of writing?

Whenever you write an essay I'd hope that it's of a high quality lol. Anyways, regarding the question, courses can have majors that require little writing (I believe finance is one of these as it is quite maths based, but I haven't actually done it yet so could be wrong) and there can be majors...

    Eleven units in year 12?

I was never a fan of 11 units :P There's just that 1 unit going to waste, which won't count for anything but takes away time you could have spent on subjects that will actually matter. But most people go with 11 units (partly I think because they do an extension subject they want to do). So it...

Re: Since i suck at science subjects should i steer to business, despite 0 business k hahaha I like this guy... Anyway, on topic, I'm doing Engineering/Commerce and I went into my Commerce degree without knowing absolutely anything about that kind of stuff (didn't do eco or business studies...

    Whitehaven Coal

Of course there are, and if there was a company that was performing even better then by all means the university should be buying their stocks (not because of what they sell, but rather they can make more money). But selling a coal company's stocks just because they sell coal isn't going to...

    Whitehaven Coal

"Recently on campus there has been a lot of talk about how the university is "stupid" to have ~AU$1,000,000 in stocks in Whitehaven Coal, an Australian company that made nearly AU$1bn this last financial year. Alright. Let's talk about this. I understand that there is a compulsion to support...

Are you comfortable with 24/7 Government Surveillance?

Re: Congratulations, we have lost our freedom. Hahaha trust the greens to come up with something like this... They can delete data on my PC? Oh no, I hope they don't delete any assignments that are due soon :S Have you got something to hide FlyingKanga? If so, then yes I can see why you're...

Do you support an increased refugee intake?

Yup, your ideas on how to make the country a better place are about as good as our governments' (past and present), you'd be a perfect politician.
  17. Amundies

Do you support an increased refugee intake?

Hate to agree with her, but I don't see this happening anytime soon. If the West doesn't interfere, the bad guys keep killing, and conflict continues. If the West interferes, at the end of that war years later, a new (and worse) militant group emerges. I can't see any scenario where the conflict...

Do you support an increased refugee intake?

I didn't invent a right, it's something that I believe that everyone should have. That is why I said "everyone should have the right to a life without oppression" as opposed to "everyone has the right to a life without oppression".
  19. Amundies

Do you support an increased refugee intake?

I'm sort of coming into this discussion without reading an awful lot of the posts posted earlier, but this is just ridiculous. If refugees commit a crime, they should be punished justly. Kicking people out for committing minor crimes is absurd, maybe we should be kicking out Australian citizens...

    bcom @ usyd

There were around 1000 students in BUSS1001 in the first semester, so I assume that's approximately how many people get into BComm (including double degree people).
