Mann That's what this one guy from my highschool kept biting my ear off about.. Dentistry.. I do X years at uni then earn the best grad salary *hufff huff* Like yeah congratulations, you're going to spend the rest of your life stuck in the same crappy room looking down peoples smelly...

    Mkt/Mgm or Accounting/Banking & Finance

That's a misconception. I've found that accounting requires strong verbal skills.

    Accounting Cadetships 2009

Pesky kids these days 32k for 4 days is GOOD. Pre GFC trainees were getting 27-28k for 4.5 days work (only a semester or two ago did 1/day off a week become standard, before that it was 4 hours) You can earn more working retail, childcare, whatever for sure. Thing is in the long run the big4...

I found the 'lazy' comment funnier than the 'millions' :P

    Banking internships 2009/10

Perhaps some other candidates have dropped out and they still have offers available? If the email said that they're 'keeping your details on file' then that's a negatory, otherwise you may be in luck.

    KPMG Cadetship or UNSW COOP?

Why do people leave? My guesses would be a) Accounting wasn't what they expected b) Couldn't manage the workload Plenty of people leave cadetships for the same reasons.. difference is accounting firms don't really 're-hire' midway through your degree.. they just take a new batch of...

Which is the best uni for business/commerce/economics?

Re: Which is the best university to do B. Com. from?!?!?!?!? UNSW/USYD for prestige, UNSW being the more flexible choice, USYD being the more white choice. Mac for actuarial. UTS for convenience/easier courses.

    KPMG Cadetship or UNSW COOP?

People have dropped out every year that I've been at uni. I think its D averages for all. Almost nobody goes for them mid-course, its pretty mind-boggling given how competitive they are pre-uni. Obviously its not something you could reliably plan for, but if you're honestly keen to do...

Would that be in research? Would anybody know how many DB gm research jobs there were?

    Accounting Cadetships 2009

Mainly operations people and underperformers really.

    KPMG Cadetship or UNSW COOP?

Why not have both 1. Take KPMG job 2. Work 2 years at KPMG 3. Return to uni with 2 years of your degree left 4. Join the UNSW Co-op midway through from your 3rd out of 4 year I mean honestly, people always seem to drop out of the UNSW co-op. I've heard of them advertising vacancies...

    UTS Co-op Scholarship 2010

You're a bit misinformed, a cadetship gives you all of that too. (to describe a big4 auditing cadetship for instance)... You start in an intake of other trainees and make close friends because you'll end up arranging your classes together at uni, working together, etc. What you lack in...

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

My impression was that they look for 'quiet' achiever type because they have no desire to grow. I remember 2 years ago they were the only mid-tier firm that shrunk. Like wtf?

    Accounting Cadetships 2010

I'd assume PwC would be taking more people so I'd bend that way solely on that.
