Is the possible subjects for SUMMER SCHOOL same for winter schooL? or are there more?

Re: Can I do hecs for summer school? Summer and winter school are not commonwealth supported, but you can get a fee-help loan. So basically, its more expensive than a normal subject during semester, and with fee-help I believe there's a one off 25% loan fee, but you can still get a loan on it...

Working out GRADE AVERAGE for USYD??

Just add up your final marks and divide by number subjects. If you have an average of 74 then that's a credit average. If you have average 76 then it's distinction average.

    Getting into law or commerce...

Transfer to usyd law would be difficult - they require 50:50 ATAR/WAM (average of first year marks). They usually recommend an ATAR of at least 97 and a D average to be competitive for a transfer. However you could always do an undergrad degree at any uni, and then apply for the JD (juris...

Semester 1 USYD Chatter Thread 2013

I'm so tired of uni already :/ between work and all my friends having finished, uni just isn't quite so fun anymore. On a good note though, I do like the USU 'funch' lunch time things - the girl singing/playing guitar on the law lawns today was good - it's nice to have some music live around...

    Reader

It's a printed book of readings required for the subject. You can purchase it from the USYD copy centre - its located down by co-op. you can look up the subject list online (google USYD copy centre) and you can also order th online to skip the very large queue.

    Alternative Law entries. Please help...

JD - is post grad. So it doesn't matter what degree you do, or what university. This is same for post grad law at many universities. At USYD entry is 75% WAM (tertiary average) and 25% ATAR. Note that for post grad law there are both hecs places and full-fee places, so if you aren't competitive...

    Alternative Law entries. Please help...

Transfer to USYD law is very difficult - they usually recommend at least 97 ATAR and D average. If you are less on the ATAR you need a really high average etc. Saying that, if you don't get into combined law at any university (either Mac or USYD), there is also post-grad. So do your 3 yr...

Blackboard after unit of study change

It can take 3 days to change. Don't worry about it yet :)

    Dropping a unit of study

I don't know about the number of changes but regarding withdrawing - so long as you withdraw before census date it will not show on you formal academic transcript. Myadmin however will show every change forever (but don't worry about it). :)

when do we get to usyd by tommorow for 0-week, how do i join the club i want???

There's no deadline as such, you can join at any time throughout the year for most societies (there are some exceptions due to the nature of the society). However it is easier if you sign up at o-week (it is easy to find the societies, and contact them) and usually more events are held early in...

when do we get to usyd by tommorow for 0-week, how do i join the club i want???

As Aerath said, there will be stacks of stalls set up on the lawns and eastern avenue - just go up to them and talk to the people there. Note: You will need an access card to sign up (unless it is a faculty society), and there will generally be a membership fee (average is usually $2-10 but...

    USYD access card worth it?

Well it's up to you, but for me personally, it's worth it for the clubs and societies. Joining a society or club is a great way of meeting people, and getting involved with university life. I've bought one every year (6 yrs) - in my early years at uni I joined quite a few clubs and societies, in...

When do people socially start to form at Uni

You will also get to recognise people in your classes (lectures and tutorials). This helps for talking to people and approaching them. Even asking a question about the class, making a comment about something that has happened in an earlier lecture - even making some comment about the weather...

Woohoo! Finally someone has put some common sense into that piece of law!

    Usyd's timetables are out

It's just linking to a technical error page now. I got mine last night, but my sister couldn't (tried to change the timetable and it timed out).

    Question about St John's college

How would future employers even know that you went to St Johns unless you told them? I don't think its a big deal (I doubt it would hurt your career), but I also don't see how employers would know unless you told them/put it on your resume (which you usually wouldn't do unless you were talking...

working hours per week during uni?

It really depends on the person, the course and what your goals are - what kind of marks do you want, what kind of social life, how much money you need etc. (and how easy you find your courses) Personally I find any more than 2 days work a week (aprox 16 hours) gets pretty difficult if you...

ipad 4 or ipad mini for note taking at university???

If you are going to get an ipad, I'd get a keyboard case to go with it. Logitech/belkin make them for both ipad and ipad mini. I see a couple of people using this combination in class, it seems to be getting more popular. Although at the moment at least in my classes macbook air's/13" macbook...

    What Exactly Is A CAN?

Commonwealth Assistance Notice. It lists your subjects, their Efstl value and their cost and then if you are deferring to hecs loan. Make sure the subjects are correct otherwise you may end up getting charged incorrectly. Otherwise just file it away. Unless you are paying upfront, or there is...

    USYD colleges - sleepovers

Well I went to Womens so I'm probably a little biased on that front - but I do think women's provides a good intermediate between being an all girls college but not being prissy/head in the sand about boys etc. there's a a lot of interaction between women's and Paul's college, as well as the...
