y are the prelims yearlies best indicator for HSC?

er, you need trig even for the maths course... even general with the basic ATSC stuff..... i don't like trig much that's why maths is my only band 4 subject at the moment

    The F1 Thread

re: The Official F1 Thread Honda's fall from grace must be beyond than just a wind tunnel "miscalbration", I mean I thought Mclaren had it bad last year. To go from Grand Prix winner to the main competitor of Scuderia Toro Rosso and being smashed by its feeder team Super Aguri. Eddie Jordan's...

    French and German?

French isn't any more different in terms of all the grammatical rules. How about doing a beginner's language? Is that in your plans? Or do you think that's actually a lot harder than a Continuers Course?

    2007 NRL Thread

You can't properly rate the Broncos missing their fullback, five-eigth and captain and hooker. Their usual fluency in attack has gone away; they're fortunate somewhat that they're clinging on to the top 8, look at the Sharkies, with Kimmorley, Bird and Dykes missing for long terms they suffered...

    speaking exam preparation

Because there's only 5 people in my class, and my teacher only works 4 days a week and we only have her for 5 periods a week, I do speaking practice avec moi-même. I used to get my sisters (who are in the same level of French as myself) to my the "examiners" but they criticize every lie I say in...

    The Official Cricket Thread 2006/2007

I'm getting a couple of my friends to go to a one-dayer. Some of them are Lankan so they'd wanna see the SL-Aus game in the SCG. Tickets would be rarer though, considering the construction works

how many people are doing history extension in your school?

That's a lot of people.. anything double digit would be. I would be inclined to think a lot of those 35 don't deserve to be doing extension. We have 6 people in our class, down from 9.

    French and German?

for senior years, yes it is suicide. That is, unless you're fluent in one of the languages. But even in that situation, you'd be more inclined to be interested in the one you're better at.

    English and UAI

Keep wishing then. Fact is senior English will never be objective, one of the modules is "Critical Study" and well... you can't have one answer for that, and therefore you can't be objective and say argument X for text Y is better than argument Z for text W. I actually like some form of...

    Importance of trials

In my school, the English trial isn't worth as much as say Maths (40%) or French (50%)... Asides from all the numbers, I reckon what you get in your trials is around -3 or +3 of what you'll get in your HSC

Is it possible to obtain a Chemistry of Physics HSC mark of 100???

^ hear hear, you can't expect a high UAI and only get band 3 in English.

Help on Major Work - Napoleon/Waterloo

Well the question is not of big concern; I changed the wording of my question numerous times. This is inevitable as you delve deeper into the topic and discover how big it really is, and so you decide to narrow it down and the focus changes; so will the question By the way I'm interested as...

    Modern History Textbooks

Re: Excel vs. Macquarie Revision Guides Hmm.. Ken Webb, didn't he do a lecture in USyd couple of months ago? I have an History Extension book on him. For such a big subject with so many options it's hard to cover in 200-250 pages the core, your national study, studies of peace and conflict...

    The F1 Thread

re: The Official F1 Thread I don't think Lewis will be going to Ferrari anytime soon. As an English driver in an English team with predominantly English crew, I think he feels a lot more comfortable in there. If he becomes World Champion money from Vodafone, Mercedes and possibly Emirates will...

quotes for "what is history" section

I've used both i.e. historian quotes and authors views on the historian. Either way it is a quotation from a source. History Extension of course is about how historians see history, you can go the next level and see how other historians see other historians.

    United Nations as Peacekeeper, anyone?

Just wondering, which school do you go to and how many people do modern in your year? Because UN as Peacekeeper is a relatively new topic isn't it, and well.... when I went to the USyd lectures there were basically 12 people who went there, and more than half only went there for curiousity.

    Preferences?

Re: First Preferences? bachelor of arts and bachelor of education (humanities and social sciences) in Usyd. then it's arts (international relations)... btw, does your first preference have to be always the one with the greater UAI required? that is, does preference follow UAI score?

    2 trials in one day

I had a pretty stressful trials first week wednesday: the second English Advanced paper, 2 hours of pure module hell then French Continuers. I would've like to study more for French but it wasn't to be. But that pales in comparison to my mates who did English Paper 1 and Physics on the first...
