    Class of 2006. Gather Ye.

I should narrow it down to what I want to do by the end of this week. I've been experiementing a lot but have not started on the product that I will be submitting for my HSC.

Art Express '06 - Your thoughts?

Re: AGNSW ArtExpress Online I went with my school today and was a bit disappointed that they didn't display many paintings on canvas in the AGNSW. There a lot of printmaking compared to previous years and most of that was quite nice, especially the one with the study of insects. I still like...

    How often are people working?

My teacher is making us email her snippets of our work constantly, so we have to produce at least one section a week or fortnight. My friend and I have around 3000 words already but now I'm starting to hit a dead end, so I hope that resolves itself soon! I've found that the more I write, the...

    Class of 2006. Gather Ye.

*High 5's the no Maths & Science students with ext2 and art under their belt* I am pathetic at drawing, it's such a handy talent to have but alas, I succeed in the field of hopelessness. Oh oh, who's going to go and see the portrait exhibition at the AGNSW? The one concerning 500 years of great...

    How often are people working?

I finally have 3000 words, but it's all here and there. I still need to work out what's happening in between everything. Le sigh.

Can someone do me a favour?

You can pm or email it to me and I'll be more than happy to critique it for you. My email is Traceyrei@hotmail.com :)

    Help photo madddddd

There's a program my brother uses (he's employed as a concept artist) called 'Painter 6'. There's also a 'Painter 7', so as far as I'm concerned, it's called 'Painter', lol. I used it for awhile too and it's quite different to photoshop. Never played around with photos in it but yes... :)

    Body of Work Ideas

Great concept, but why perspecs? I've never painted on it before...does it create a certain effect or something? The concept that I've been tossing around lately is the appropriation of classical portraits of women in a de Kooning style, but I'm not sure if it'll sustain my interest because it...

    Art colleges...

I know that at the Sydney College of Art they'll look at your portfolio and then you go through an interview process. As a general rule you need to have a UAI over 70 to have a real chance of getting in (their website says so). For the National Art School, entry is also by portfolio, interview...

    how young is 2 young??

Anything over the 2.5 year age gap when the oldest person in the relationship is 18 or under is not right in my books.

    English Help

Isn't 'Change' the Area of Study for Preliminary Standard and Advanced English? --- Suggestions for studying... when it came to exam time, I did practice essays and gave them to my teacher to mark. You might not be able to find many past papers for most of the prelim topics, but ask your...

    Case Studies

I'd die if we had to do Asian studies in art, and I can say this with impunity because I am Asian:P It's probably because I've always been exposed to it so it doesn't spark an interest anymore. But I'm glad you're interested in it! The topic 'Asian Eyes. Western Practice' sounds interesting...

    Class of 2006. Gather Ye.

I have a starting point! Yayayayay! I've been floundering for what has been like forever and I've finally decided what I want to do. I don't care if it changes later, the point is the flounder has been cooked! I think I'll do a series of paintings de Kooning style, much like his 'Woman' series...

    B Fine Arts / B Arts

Ah, thank you so much for that Tash. I thought that the BFA at CoFA would actually teach you how to paint and draw - there doesn't seem to be much of a point in just experimenting without improving your technique - you can do that stuff at home, you don't need to pay 40 grand for a degree in...

    State Library! whos goin?!

I was there a few times during the holidays and might make a few trips there on Saturdays. It's always so intimidating seeing other HSC students there:\

    B Fine Arts / B Arts

So you don't get taught to draw or paint, or to improve your technical skills? :S So what does the course teach you?:\

The 'What are you doing?' thread.

So far I've got 3 short excerpts (500 words?) from different parts of my story. I've decided to tackle one long story but break it up into episodes. I haven't done anything in a whole week and am starting to feel guilty again. Meh.

    ArtExpress Works

I went to see the works at David Jones! Some of them were really amazing, but I found some of the personal statements a bit pretentious, so that was the only downside to it all. I also loved the work that was done in Basquiat's style, and the metal work sculpture was also very cool.

    Class of 2006. Gather Ye.

Welcome to the BoS forums Bubbles! For more information on the courses at CoFA, check out their undergraduate courses at www.cofa.unsw.edu.au and read the handbook entries. Or you can just read most of Collette's (etc.etc.etc.) posts because she seems to be answering everyone's questions about...

    Futuro( Art at Uni kids)

Collette - I feel like sending you a basket of cookies and chocolate, lol. Thank you!! Yeah, I know - I guess it gives kids other options instead of just CoFA and SCA. Most jobs out there are all about the connections nowadays, I agree, and I have no idea what you meant by the last part:P...
