Did anybody run out of time or find the test at all difficult?

Lol, normally the people who do well are the ones who post about it. I wouldn't worry if I were you - I'm sure a lot of people found the test difficult, hence the fact that only 3-4% of the candidature get in the top band. I did well in the test, but I go to a selective school and have been...

Did anyone else find the exam..

I'm so happy. According to the answers posted in the other thread, I got 94-95% (and anything around that I'd be happy with anyway) so I'm just so psyched. I've never been passionate about maths, but I enjoyed it this year.

Who else has two exams on the absolute last day?

I'm only an economist, but I have a friend who's a dramatic economist - the poor thing.

    Your standards

You'll die of shame if you get under... 95 You won't tell anyone what you got if you get less than.... 90 You will be satisfied with over... 98 You'll be bloody estatic with over... 99 But really, I just want to get into my uni course :) That's all that matters in the end, isn't it?

    Modules made my hand hurt.

^Haha yeah, but at least the subject is enjoyable. I love writing those essays damnit!

Module C: Telling The Truth - Frontline

That's kind of what I did.. It doesnt matter, it's over now. The only exam that matters is the next one. :)

    Modules made my hand hurt.

Haha don't worry about how much other people wrote... a lot of my friends were like "we filled up two booklets for each question!" and their writing was HUGE. I wrote eight-nine pages per essay and my writing was pretty small. It's quality not quantity.

Did you mention productions in King Lear?

I only wrote a paragraph on Brooke's production to back up one of my points. The essay wasn't really about productions.

possible 2005 HSC economic extended response

Actually, they would have known that Howard would have control of the Senate in July, and he had been trying to push through his Industrial Relations reforms for some time... so I think they will test it, unfortunately... micro is my weak point.

Module B: Critical Study of Texts (Merged)

    ^Yeah, that's exactly how I interpreted it.

For those Ex 1 students who cant burn english texts till monday 31st

I have Extension, but at least Postmodernism is fun! Unlike the misery inflicted by my studies of King Lear... and the ten thousand other modules we had to learn in Advanced.

General thoughts on the whole English Adv. Paper 2

I actually thought it was rather difficult. My heart almost stopped when I read the questions for the first time. But once I drew up my plans, I calmed down. I wouldn't say it was an easy paper though?!

    Did you finish?

I actually had enough time. I forced myself to complete each essay in 35 minutes, then spent 5 minutes checking each one and making sure it was the best I could make it.

which counts more? paper 1 or paper 2?

This came straight from the mouth of my Vice Principal who is an English teacher: Paper 1 is 45% and Paper 2 is 55%.

Module B: Critical Study of Texts (Merged)

^I don't think it had to be in first person at all. I wrote in third person, but argued my point nethertheless.. "this signifies...", "this proves..." etc. I think the style of the question was pretty loose, so you could do anything.

    Module C: Representation and Text

The Frontline question was the only one that threw me a little bit... I understood it and all, but 'selection and emphasis' was hard to manipulate my entire essay around. I think I did okay though.
  17. M

Anybody worried about english paper 2?

I'm kinda freaked out, but I've done all I can. Hopefully they won't be too nasty with the questions.

    State Library Study Team

I've been going to the local library every day for the past two weeks. It's working!

How is the HSC going for YOU?

It's funny, it was quite anti-climatic - I felt like I was sitting the School Certificate again!

How did u link Q3 with yourself?

I made random comments throughout the essay... for eg "Margaret Atwood's exploration into the mind expanded my knowledge and perception of the metaphysical nature of the journey" ( I didn't actually write that line, but I wrote stuff like that )
