    General Thoughts On The Exam

I actually found the short answer questions to be highly ambiguous. From looking at past papers, the questions were very straight forward, i.e. "Describe two characteristics of the behavioural school of management" in last year's exam. This year left everything open to interpretation, and I...

    Business Reports how many pages?

I did two and a half booklets for section three and two booklets for section four. Anyway, it's quality over quantity, so it doesn't really matter how many booklets we filled up!

    Section IV - Extended Response

I did Q27 because I looked at 28 and completely blanked out in regards to industrial disputes. I liked 27 because I could manipulate it a lot and I had a similar question in my trial exam. I talked about the basic rights of employers (duty to provide agreed remuneration etc) and talked about...

    Section III - Business Report

I loved it! Wrote 18 pages which is the most I've written this entire HSC period. Hopefully that'll make up for the three multiple choices I fucked up.. :(

for future students - find the pattern

Hey, here's a great idea: just study everything!! I did and it wasn't that difficult. Just start sooner rather than later. Why would you walk into an exam only knowing a tiny bit of the course when you can know it all and feel a whole lot more confident? While it's possible on some occasions to...

the "OMG i STILL havnt finished the HSC" thread

Yeah, my friends have been getting drunk and partying all week - and I'm still studying damn it!!

the "OMG i STILL havnt finished the HSC" thread

I've still got Business Studies and Economics - and my subconscious is convinced that I'm already finished hence my sudden complacency and absolute exhaustion!

    Which is worse?

Doing the HSC! Who cares about the results - what's happened has happened. The exams themselves are the real stress inducers.

    What was your hardest exam?

Extension History... which was odd because it's one of my favourites and I'm ranked first in it! My answer to one of the questions was about 70% of the standard of my trial answer which was a major bummer... I walked out and wanted to cry.

    Extension History - General thoughts

Question 1 was a godsend - I loved it Question 2 was a bitch - what were they thinking!!! I walked out and wanted to cry, even though I'm sure I did a good job. It was just so disorienting having to factor a quote and reduce the question down to something that was feasibly understood, let...

For those who attempted the Transformation of League to Empire

I studied everything and hence it was a great question :) I was verrry happy!

    How many people left early?

I go to a selective school and I don't think in the whole history of the HSC anybody has actually left early... There's no way I could walk out of an exam - what if you thought about something you could have written two minutes later?!

Who nearly had a heart attack with Akhenaten?

^They can't mark you down if you've backed up what you've said with sources and it's legitimate. I did notice that question, but I did the one on administration of Egypt in section four, which is my forte :D With Akhetaten - I did that, talked about its relig significance etc, it just really...

Who nearly had a heart attack with Akhenaten?

What were they thinking!!! "The Layout of Akhetaten"??? What more can you say other than it faces east, is bound by fourteen boundary stelae, is between two cliffs and has a Workers Village, Residential Area & Great Palace?? I managed to pad it out with the 'functions' of Akhetaten, but what a...

    Section I - Personalities

I nearly had a heart attack when I read the Akhenaten questions. I managed to do them well in the end, but could they have been any more bloody specific?!! "The Layout of Akhetaten" - what more can you say than it faces east, is bound by fourteen boundary stelae, and has a Workmens village...

    Section II - Ancient Societies

I did Athenian Society in the time of Pericles. They were nice, easy questions, and the 10 mark one on women was in my trial exam so I was set.
  17. M

Section III, IV - Historical Periods

I did the "transformation of the Delian League to the Athenian Empire' question for Greece 500-440BC and the 'administration of the Egyptian empire' for New Kingdom Egypt AIII-RII. I thought the essay questions were great.

    General Thoughts: Ancient History 2005

I thought the essay questions and society section was great, but the personalities section was way too specific (I do Akhenaten). Overall though, it was a good exam and I'm happy with how I went.

    Postmodernism

Am I the only one who didn't like the creative stimulus?! For the first time in my entire life, I had a mental block when I wanted to start writing. After a few minutes I was fine, but yeah it threw me a bit.. I loved the essay question though! It was tops..
  20. M

SO how many pages did you do?

    Essay = 16 pages Creative = 8 pages
