    sources of economic growth

Some include: - Improvements in productivty (technological progress, increased efficiency of factors of production) - Institutional improvements (encouragement of export industries for example) - strong aggregate demand (increased consumer, business, government spending etc) - weaker...

What effect is the 2005/6 budget likely to have on?

^That helped me too with putting together an essay plan for an upcoming assessment. Thanks :)

    Trials...

^Absolutely agree- I always apply and answer as many practice questions as I can which works a hell of a lot better than trying to memorise a text book. Good luck :)

How is the class of 05 coping with the pressure of HSC

I am loving it! This is the first year I've really studied and I'm enjoying it so much. I can't believe how fast time has gone.

    The Budget

Actually the tax cuts won't automatically go into consumption... Most people in the high income tax brackets have property investments - the more they're taxed, the more they can negative gear - so logically, since there is a tax cut, the extra money they get per week will likely be saved to go...

    The Budget

The Financial Review had a fantastic budget supplement. The SMH's and the Australian's were slightly thin, but still good.

IF NOT BRADLEY! THEN WHO??? Ive got some for Egypt

Because Bradley is a TEXT BOOK WRITER not a historian. She's great for summing up the topic, but she should be used as an overview - not to quote (unless you quote the historians that she quotes)

    How many can we use?

You can use as many as you want! Integrate the appropriate case studies into your notes in each different section if some are stronger in certain areas. For example, if you're doing your notes for marketing, add in the relevant case study info as part of your notes. That will make it easier on...

    another question.

What you're doing is fine for the last Extended response, but the first one (the report) you need to be able to apply all that knowledge because they'll give you a random situation. But even so, most of biz studies is just regurgitating info where appropriate.

why would an improvement in the Terms of Trade be a negative thing?

^I'm guessing you addressed that to Will Hunting, but I'll have a go until he gets time to answer.. An improvement in the TOT means that our exports are more powerful and can buy more imports. That means that our exports are bringing in more money - the Balance on Goods and Services will...

The HSC Economics Exam Time Comments Thread

^Yeah it's really annoying about the histories! I have Ancient on Tuesday and Extension History on Friday which isn't too bad, but English Extension is the day before Ancient!

why would an improvement in the Terms of Trade be a negative thing?

^Yikes, I wasn't typing an essay, I was answering a question. Obviously I wasn't going to go over my expression with a fine toothed comb. And with TOT and exports - when interpreting, we use the volume, not the prices. The TOT itself is a price index when measuring, but the interpretation is...

The HSC Economics Exam Time Comments Thread

I don't mind it being on the last day - I'll be well and truly 'finished' when I leave the exam room. Also, there's more time to refine exam technique. The only bummer is that Business Studies is two days before it.

Is The NSW HSC Too Easy?

The HSC is fine just the way it is! It's not exactly a walk in the park - it's bloody hard work and perseverance.

    ext history...argh!!

My school hasn't asked for our proposal yet, but we've already given in our first essay draft. Different schools do things different ways.
  19. M

why would an improvement in the Terms of Trade be a negative thing?

Well you coulllld say that it could lead to an appreciation, since more money would be flowing in from exports, and then you could go into the bad effects of appreciations such as rising import spending which would in turn worsen the TOT etc?

    External Exam Weighting?

I know that drama students have to do a group external project, so maybe that's counted in the 60%?
