    Help with summarising :)

That used to be my dilemma!! What I do is type my (far too detailed) summary, print it out, then highlight the things I can drop out. I usually find that after I've finished the topic, I know which stuff is relevant, and which stuff can go, and end up with really succinct summaries :)

2005 HSC Exam Timetable - what do u think?

^It could, but it couldn't. The more cram-free your brain is, the clearer you'll think in the exam room. You either know eco really well by the time the HSC rocks around, or you'll never know it.

why would an improvement in the Terms of Trade be a negative thing?

Wouldn't an improvement be positive? Rising export prices means more money is coming INTO Australia, as exporters exchange their foreign funds from sales into Australian dollars to meet expense requirements here. The BGS would be improved, as there would be a larger balance on exports (more...

    Could someone explain Postmodernism?

    ^Yup :) I found it really clear.

Major exchange rate question - from syllabus!

^Agree with everything you said, except the bit about the structure. It is important - one of the prerequisite's for the top band is "a sustained, logical and well structured response"

    4 mark question on subsidies

Check out the 2004 HSC paper online... the first question in it, if I remember correctly, was on subsidies - it was a two-part question.

    Could someone explain Postmodernism?

Postmodernism is the rejection of modernism in a nutshell. Modernism is: • A belief that the truth exists • A belief that creating art is a search for the truth • A belief in meta narratives (sets of ideas that explain the state of things or lead us to the truth). • A belief in the value...

what r u up to in eco ?

    eco's half yearly

The lesson to learn is that you should just study everything just in case. That's what I do, and it's what everyone should do. Teachers aren't infallible - they could easily forget something they put in a test, and they can always make last minute changes. In future, just don't rely on anyone...

    eekkk help with eco slang

Nick is right, you do say that the float is 'dirty', however if you got a question that asked you to explain what that meant, you would discuss covert intervention. And yeah, jargon is a collection of terms relevant and used specifically in a certain area.

    possible ques for half yrlies

Our question was 'Discuss the impacts of globalisation on an economy that you have studied in relation to it's economic development'

    eekkk help with eco slang

so for example, the reserve bank buys Australian dollars - that would decrease supply/increase demand which would lead to an appreciation of the dollar. they don't tell the public they are doing it though, so it is covert intervention.

    eekkk help with eco slang

^I edited my previous answer with an explanation :)

    eekkk help with eco slang

'dirty' means covert intervention. Covert intervention means that they are intervening in the market without anyone knowing, affecting demand and supply forces.

On the UAC website it states that a person who got 99.95 UAI did General Maths. So it is VERY possible!

    Getting seasick on the cruise...

My ex-boyfriend and some of his mates got sea sick. Take some travel tablets with you like Kwells (they sell at most pharmacies) and take it on the way out of Sydney harbour and the way in (apparently that's where you get sea sick because it's really rough).

    Schoolies Cruises

I'm on the 8th too - can't wait! My ex-boyfriend went on one of the cruise's last year and there's only reception when you're in a port or coming into Sydney Harbour. Other than that, they don't work. His friend's phone also got stolen on the last day, so you have to watch out for that.

How did your Business 1/2 yearly go?

I got 90% which brings my average to 92% for 40 per cent of my school assessment. I was ranked first with my first assessment, but I think I'm ranked second or third now.

2005 - How do you really study for BS?

I write up summarised notes, and learn them. Then I go and APPLY all that knowledge by doing answers to questions from textbooks, past papers, handouts from teachers etc. It's all very well to learn your notes - but that's only half of what you need to do. You have to apply them to a range of...
