    eco's half yearly

I had my half yearly a few weeks ago: 10 multiple choice (got 9/10) 40 marks worth of short answers (36/40) 20 marks for China essay (19/20) I didn't think that I was going to go that well, but I came first in the grade with 55/60 :)

I'm on it with three of my friends, can't wait.

    economics Extension

We have four full classes of Economics at my school, which is why I was so surprised to read that only 5000-6000 students do it in the state each year.

    My Economics resources

I use Riley, Dixon, Updated Economics (Bulmer), Model Answer Series, a whole pile of Leading Edge stuff a friend of mine gave me from all his workshops and the Success Package he did last year, also a bunch of handouts from my teacher which she regularly gives us.

how did everyone go in their 1st or 2nd hsc economics assessments

I was ranked first in my grade for my half yearly which I'm so excited about. Got 19/20 for my China essay, and 36/40 for multiple choice/short answer section.

how did everyone go in their 1st or 2nd hsc economics assessments

Certain schools have easier assessments than others though. I go to a selective school and we have realllly hard assessments. A friend of mine goes to a private catholic school and they get shit easy stuff - hand in assignments and exams composed of 15 multiple choice and two short answers. So a...

    Protection in Aus

Leading Edge Australia in the Global Economy has a good chapter on protection in Australia - it's available at Dymocks in the city. I got most of my information from my teacher who gives us really good handouts, but Leading Edge had some good material. Basically you should know about how...

    Exchange rate mechanisms

In Bulmer Updated Economics they give a couple of diagrams to illustrate floating/fixed exchange rates. Floating ex/r is basically just your basic supply and demand diagram (crossing lines) with an equilibrium where they meet (the market determined exchange rate). For fixed exchange rates, there...

    history extension half yearly

Had my half yearly on Tuesday, our question was: "With reference to this article and at least THREE examples from historians you have studied, discuss how history is constructed for different audiences and from different points of view"

How does balance of payments impct on domestic $ supply??

A fixed exchange rate is set for LONG periods of time, whereas a pegged exchange rate is normally set for SHORT periods of time (a week, a month)

pros & cons of business studies?

No, its where you memorise content out of the textbook or some other source.

pros & cons of business studies?

It's really easy and interesting, basically if you use your common sense you'll excel. It's not a subject where you can really rote learn the textbook and then go really well in the exam, you have to understand it and be able to integrate your own ideas and conclusions.

    Financial Management & Planning Help

They will give you industry averages in an exam. You cannot comment on them otherwise. If there are no industry averages, you could say something along the lines of "the financial viability of the business cannot be deduced due to the absence of industry averages which are used to ascertain the...

    Systems/Contingency

It's good to know though that: a) Systems/Contingency recognises the need for all the components of the biz to be intergrated and interdependent (each department relies on all the other departments) b) It's really flexible and adaptable to change

Class of o5, how did u go in ur 1st assessment?

Thanks :) Yeah I am! I go to a selective school, and it can get really bitchy, everyone is so competitive, so it was good to rise above most of the girls who carry on the most.

Class of o5, how did u go in ur 1st assessment?

I went really well! Came ranked second with 96% - 62.5/65 (it was on Biz management and change).

    Business Studies Lecture/Seminar

These are the Academic Attainment lectures. I was going to go to the two ones in July (they repeat the Biz managment and change/financial management lecture on July 13) but the Leading Edge Economics lectures are on the same day as the Marketing/ER/Global lecture which I'm really pissed off...

    half-yearlies and study

Haha, I find that I totally procastinate during exam periods, which is why I study 3hrs+ each afternoon in the school term, and like ten hours over the weekend, and learn all the stuff I need to know well before my exams hit.

    General or 2 Unit maths.

Actually, general maths is a lot more relevant to life than 2 Unit is. I'm fantastic at all my subjects, but I was struggling with 2unit maths. Going to a selective school, if you're not tutored in maths and doing at least an hour every night, there's no way you can catch up to those at the top...
