    National Studies HISTORIOGRAPHY

Historians I was just wondering what people though about using 'textbook' historians, such as S. Dixon, K. Webb etc... Is it wong to quote these guys in exams or should we just use it as our own knolwedge? I've spoken to many people about this and each seems to have their own opinion, leaving...

Teacher discouraging me to do poetry!?

I've completed the Ext2 and I'd say that if you really have a passion for poetry then go for it! Though, perhaps get your current work checked over by a professional poet before you decide on medium. That should give you an idea of how you're going. I chose to write two speeches. For our first...

    Is History ext hard?

This is my take on history and the history extension course. It may not be what you think but it is completely valid, as the postmodernists believe, lol... It is an easy subject to 'tailor' to you interests. For me, I related historiography to sociology, anthropology and, particularly...

Suggestions for HOLOCAUST Inquirty questions please!

I looked at the undying debate of the bombing of Auschwitz. Basically, the Allies had the chance to bomb the camp, potentially preventing others from being killed there. I came to the conclusion that their decision not to bomb was, in some part, due to the West's ambivalence to the fate of the...

    the historicity of jesus christ

Hmmm... I wish that I'd found this earlier! I'm studying Jesus as well... Yes, it is a bit difficult considering that last year only about 70-80 people attempted it in the state. I managed a 22/25 in the trial for the case study but it shouldn't be too hard to bump that up a couple of marks for...

    The 'I'm finished EE2 for 2008' thread.

I finished the final draft at 5 in the morning last night (oh the irony) - I feel very glad... The reflective is half finshed and i shall be finishing it togninht. As it's a speech, the recoring will have to come the night before... It's ghastly! So very VERY close though...

2 Major works = big mistake?

I do Ext History and Ext2 English - they're both really great courses but you'll have to have good motivation for independent learning. It is most important is that you don't leave the majors to the last minute, which I have. The Ext2 major work is due during my trial week, neek week that is...

Maximum Weighting of the English Trial

I feel for you, 45% is really bad... My English trial is worth 30% - We've had lots of assessments already worth 10% and 15% so hopefully they will make up for my disaster that is to come from the trial next week, sigh... It's worse from English Extension, we've had two assessments already...

BAcc 2008 Applicants to 2009 entry

Re: BAcc 2008... I'm not going to go for the Co-op at UNSW. I would rather do the BAcc at UTS. Also, the Co-op is slightly harder to get into, UAI wise anyway. So if I get the 95 that I want, I'm definitely into BAcc but not definitely into the Co-op... therefore, no need to apply for Co-op...

BAcc 2008 Applicants to 2009 entry

Re: BAcc 2008... I didn't apply for any cadetships but I probably should have. Although now that I have BAcc (with UAI 95) I should be fine. I'm still going to apply to UNSW Co-op though, I think. Can you say yes to BAcc and then take another offer later. If I got both I'd take BAcc, but I like...
