    combined degrees

They finish their degree after 5 years (or whatever), right? Then they graduate and get their certificates. For combined degrees, you do the two degrees at the same time by doing subjects from both faculties (usually). I think what you're thinking there is that you do one degree in the first...

    Stuvac

Study Vacation. It's a week or so off intended for you to get away from class. It happens when the classes have finished and before exams start. Here I advise you to do last-minute catchup, revision and preparation for exams.

Tips for 2007 HSC Class/Things You Wish You Knew Before Starting Your HSC

Re: Tips for 2007 HSC Class This is the best thread ever created in the 2007 HSC forum. It has a history behind it. It started back in 2005. Tip #1: Be a bit more resourceful: practice quizes (on the Board of Studies site), past exam papers (trust me, do it with timing), syllabuses...

    Subject choices ><

Hullo. Yeh, I understand you. Choosing subjects is a big pain in the butt in my view but I'll help you out here. In my opinion if you choose 'easy' subjects, you'd have to strive hard to get the high UAI. I think for 'options open', you meant that you will end up having as many open doors as...

    UMAT vs TRIALS

I don't think it's unfair. Schools generally have trials in the middle of term 3, right? The same time as UMAT so in other words, everybody who wants to do UMAT is screwed. By the way, I say that you should worry more about the trials than UMAT. Hope you come to a compromise!

    Failed P's?

Was it hiding behind a tree? I thought that stop signs were on the list of testable skills. Of the handful of RTA centres I know of, there are stop signs outside.

    Failed P's?

I get it! Remember that all tests involve at least one stop sign and one school zone, ya?

    How's life in TAFE?

Just curious here- what's the difference between TAFE and uni? (in terms of the way classes are run, hours, buildings, social life, etc)

    2007 Economics Marathon

No, it's not. Sustained or ongoing economic growth may have its negative impacts on society (such as the environment and inequality of income, sometimes) as well as other economic indicators such as inflation and CAD.

NSW introduces new standards for student teachers

 Teachers to go back to basics in English! It says that teachers need good class-management skills and computer skills. Hear! Hear?

    Recycled Water: Your Opinion

This has become an issue in the media again. I do believe that we've got the highest dam levels in three years and about 7 months of rain this month. LOL. $500 per home for rainwater tanks: Rudd http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21965336-5007133,00.html?from=public_rss I know that there...

Four out of five academic scholars agree that Wikipedia is a reliable source

Like Tulipa said- I don't see anything wrong (to get a grasp of the basics of a topic) with using wikipedia- just not to cite it as a valid source. I know that it's edit-able but the stuff that's on there is relatively similar (but easier to understand) compared to the sources/journals we...

I need an easy subject for semester 2!!! Recommendations??

I was joking there. I wonder what ENGL1000 is about. I don't intend to do it but I'll look it up anyway.

I need an easy subject for semester 2!!! Recommendations??

Let's get this right, you want a subject that: -has a low-failure rate -has no final exam (in exam period) -should be 1st year for ease -must be easy My suggestion is a language if you want arts. To me, it fits the above criteria. Perhaps French will do since you already know 2 words.

    2007 Economics Marathon

This thread has been dead for the past 3 months and I can understand. It's so close to the trials and it's worth putting life back into it. Thankyou kenny156 for being patient for a response. These are all from memory. Fiscal Policy: The government can manipulate the 'G' part of the...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Yeh, we all know that one. Not sure what Malcolm Fraser really means but I think he wants the policy-makers to look at Canada's example. Are Canada's plans any better or are they worse? *shrugs*

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

wheredanton- thanks for that. I don't read The Age by the way. :lol * Why is it that the word 'marginal' has popped up more often especially in the context of John Howard's policies? Makes me wonder.... I don't recall this much happening in 2004. Prior to the state elections, did...
