They were told that - it will be read like a normal response, the deconstruction of both supp texts will have equal consideration, and will have an impact on the final mark. So in essence, take it as though the question has been changed to "at least ONE..." rather than "ONE". It sucks.

The marker knows that leaving out a title is not intentional - for some 'subliminal' purpose. It ties the story together - it completes it in a sense. Failing to write one should be penalised. That head marker sounds like a steel-brained neanderthal.

It is 'Extension English' for a reason. You have no excuse for failing to encompass the conventions of short-story writing. How much you have written has become a security blanket for most students. How many times do you hear, "How much did you write?" rather than "What did you write?" straight after an exam. It is a shame really.

I think the exam was definately solid. I do not think it was as easy as what people are saying, I did think it was challenging (and definately exciting). How do you get a state rank? Is it based on your own examination mark (eg. if someone is ranked 30th and get a 98/100 - does that give them a state rank) or is it based on your aligned mark, so the one based on the average of your internal rank and your own mark? Thanks.
