    geography band 6 cut off

Try having AOS and then the double of Geo and Engineering. I have done basically nothing for geog, still hoping for a band six, a lot of it is just common sense.

not neccessarily. Reslience is the area under the straight line section. You can have something that endures a huge load but if it won't extend you don't have a resilient material.

Gaps in knowledge? Fill them in here!

Digital Control Technology In a nutshell a computer monitors, senses changes and then uses technology to rectify problems. I use ABS where a computer monitors the braking stress on each wheel, and if it senses a wheel locking from the braking it redistributes this force to other wheels...

    Motivation

http://members.optusnet.com.au/sanguinivore/stuff/countdown.swf On a lighter note, how are these to be any different from the trials? if you knew your stufff for the trials you'll be fine.

So how much of the HSC is based on yr 11 work?

why do you think i know everything inside out, i'm fucked and had engineering shoved down my throat for a year and a half or more; not to mention i read the text books for fun. *giggles*

    Worked (past) Papers

You can post the question and i'll work an answer for you, they don't take long.

So how much of the HSC is based on yr 11 work?

There's nothing, we didn't do any year 11 work like households. We've done the hsc twice :o

    Is it really too late?

*jumps on the bandwagon* i swear if i knew you i'd find you and bash you. Now is when you do start working. I went from 14th in advanced english at yr 11 half yearlies to 1st at the end of year 12. All you gotta do is try a little tenderness. Give it your best, there's no better time to...

    More HSC Qs

Yes i am; and no resilience is the ability of a material to withstand PLASTIC deformation and return to its normal state. I can't stress enough that it resists plastic/permanent deformation.

How do u find the difficulty of engineering studies

    I don't + i do general maths and topped it ;)

I guess I should start studying

Not so much getting too me. It's just an anxious thing.

I guess I should start studying

ells_ellie: i sometimes feel like vommiting just from beign anxious. I'm not studying copiously though, would average out to an hour a day. But by now we should no our shit and this should be a reiteration of what we already know.

Good answer for fibre optics. Lifting devices: good old medium carbon steel because it has reslience and adequate yield strength. These are tested using a tensometer test and by observing the area under the straight line section for reslience and the peak of the straightline section.

    UAI Prediction / Estimate Please

rn21: anything could happen. I'd say mid to high eighties. 87 if you need a figure. Lauren: standard will pull you down a lot, i'd say high seventies.

Bronze and Brass are copper alloys :-/ I wouldn't pick them, since when do they use bronze or brass in axle shafts? They aren't powderformed anyway, they are precipitation hardened to be formed. Powder forming is for dissimilar materials, eg graphite and copper or something. If he was talking...

    More HSC Qs

That last one you've kind of fallen all over yourself in your definition. Hardening - the steel is heated to the austenite zone and soaked to a single-phase solution and then quenched in water. The resultant grain structure is asicular grains on the surface of the steel (this is the...

    More HSC Qs

Bicycle: wrought iron and steel is now widely replaced by composites due to their superior strength to weight ratio.
