    ye the 4 units is 2U for ext.1 and 2U for ext. 2... that's why they hold the maths 2U and the maths 4U on the same day at the same time. btw most guys will tell you that u should spend equal time on both but 4U is so much work... :(

    got a query on which substitution to use and how to do it in this question 2 ∫ dx/(x-1)(x^2-2)^0.5 1.5 btw the part with the x's is all the denominator. the only part in the numerator is the dx.

    4 unit half yearly 2008 !

    had ours on thursday.. hope to get it back this week. we got examined on harder 3U induction, conics (epic) and polys. the induction was so easy but it was a really long test 4-5 questions in 70 mins. most kids didnt finish. oh well, hope to get near full marks.

    got a question, never seen it b4. P and Q are the end points of a focal chord of the ellipse x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 1. if P and Q have parameters alpha and beta, show that e^-1 = (sin alpha - sin beta)/sin (alpha - beta).???? help pls.....

    If there was only one Ext 2 math textbook in the world...

    well i think patel is the best textbook around except for the extremeties that he has in the book - some questions are never asked in the hsc e.g. locus of ellipse. however coroneos' supplement (because it has extened sections) is also a fantastic book but the lack of curve sketching is a pain...

    yes p1 x p2 = 4 its the same proof as prove that p1 x p2 = b^2... i just wanted to know about showing that the points of intersections between lines p1 and p2 and the tangent lie on the circle x^2 + y^2 = 9...

    got a Q let the lengths of the perpendiculars from the foci of an ellipse 4x^2 + 9y^2 = 36 be P1 and P2. prove that P1xP2 = 4. Also prove that the points of contacts lie on the auxilary circle x^2 + y^2 = 9
