MyUni's not letting me change my timetable... when I indicate a certain time period during which I could not attend any lectures or tutorials, that period of time shows up in blue but does not put the class inside it somewhere else... anyone else having this problem??? Any ideas what to do?

They learnt bits in Arabic school I suppose... but it's true that formal Arabic is completely different from colloquial Arabic.

I learnt Indonesian and it was quite easy to learn, whereas with Arabic, I have a lot of Lebanese friends who speak it quite fluently and yet cannot understand a word of the news. For that factor alone, I would say go for Indonesian.

I didn't get it! :( Not sure about which units of study they pay for, but you do get some pocket money every year, plus you're guaranteed a job after you graduate.

CLCV 1001 (Classical Mythology)... all the people I meet in the class love the subject so far, although we all admit that it would be quite useless for any future job prospects, hehehe. :) The subject matter is really interesting and absorbing - lots of sex, castration and violence!
