    Semester 1 Timetables

There are ten minutes between classes, but if you think you need to leave early there's nobody stopping you.

    Semester 1 Timetables

Heyy it's another person enrolled in advanced sci who decided to do the blatantly non-science unit Economic Geography of Global Development. We're a rare breed. Milking the fact that it still counts as a 'science' unit. Did you do the geog units last year? Oh btw, the best way to get rid of...

    Semester 1 Timetables

Is how my timetable looks at the moment. Clearly somebody screwed up (i.e. not me). Two of my units are missing completely. I suspect that the Geoscience department made a slight oversight. I'm enrolled in a chem unit, and three geoscience units, two of which are at advanced level. The...

    Science Scholarship and Marks

I don't know how you're going to possibly fit all that in a combined degree. I managed to get slightly above the D average this year from, well, I wouldn't call it minimal effort but it was a surprise. Certainly aim to get D or above in certain subjects and try to minimise the effect of the...

MATH1901 Differential Calculus (Advanced) exam tomorrow

I'm sure it's too late now (as we've just done the paper) but it was worth 35%.

    Australia ABC college in Fairfield?

    Overloading / Science TSP

I'm thinking maybe they want you to study Geogaphy at TSP level, but I'm unsure if there's any of that available. I would be in that position too had I got a 99 UAI (98 instead), with a band 6 in geography too. If I manage to get into TSP in second year then would there be opportunities to use...

So who made it to BSc (Advanced)?

Yep, I got in too, along with two others at my school.

HELP! How quickly does Med Sci @ SydU fill up? (Undergrad applications...)

Aren't you lucky? There's still vacancies for B Med Sc (First year entry). The cutoff is 91.00.

    Vacancies in 2008 science courses

This year is the first time since 2006 (the UAC archive doesn't go any further) that there are vacancies in the BSc, BSc (Adv) and even the BSc (Adv Maths). The very fact that Adv Maths has vacancies is really surprising. That doesn't sound very encouraging at all, but it would make sense if...

    General Thoughts - Geography

A few things: - What type of map was it? - Was vertical exaggeration 0.4 or 2.5? - How are we expected to fill a booklet with ONE urban dynamic? Personally thought it was quite a challenging exam. Could've done better myself but over it now.

any ideas of the extended responses?

What do you think are the chances of getting two case studies for Ecosystems at risk? It hasn't been asked very often (or at all), but I did get asked for two case studies for my trial (and managed to pull it off even though I was massively underprepared for the second case study).

General Thoughts - English Adv Paper 2

Well, clearly I am going to fail maths. But I blame this on my school's English teachers who screwed up the weighting themselves for the trial.

General Thoughts - English Adv Paper 2

Well you can work this out given how much each question is worth: AOS: Three questions worth 15 marks each. Modules: Three questions worth 20 marks each. Add them up and you get a 60:40 weighting.

Someone has kidnapped BOS English Exam writers.

I too agree that it was "easy" but I'm not complaining. But the reason I found it easy was because it tended towards areas that I was much strong in. I wouldn't be surprised if so many people struggled (like many at my school, who just weren't expecting those sort of questions... some people do...
