who's still going out clubbing/RSL-ing in between exams?

I had the ritual of a beer after every exam. i had a case of 500mL VB cans left over from my 18th. Left the goin out stuff till after my exams and went out last night. It feels a lot better to wait it out, then go crazy

What were funniest momentf of your HSC

No real funny stuff happened to us this year but a couple of years ago my legal studies teacher filled out a joke physics test and sent it in. At first the principal got heaps pissed because he couldnt believe someone would get such a low mark (he got a band 1 or something) when everybody else...

The "OMG I've Finished the HSC" thread

Thank god its finally over. Finished with physics yesterday. Went to the beach then went to the club to celebrate. Then went to one of those late night movies after havin a few beers - awesome fun. Scary movies aren't that scary when you dont really comprehend whats goin on I know what you...

any1 found the einstein question confusing

Its mass dilation (or mass decrease). When they travel at high speeds their mass is supposed to decrease

english exams r more like a test of physical strength than testing ur english skills

I have noticed that problem after the english exams. I'm lefthanded so by the end of the exam the side of my hand thats been resting on the paper was completely blue from ink. Felt tip pens are terrible for me coz i just smudge them unless i'm careful, which defeats the whole purpose of using...

    Adv. English is a joke

It all depends on your attitude, and in part on your teacher. If you choose to just memorise an essay or a set of ideas the subject is pointless. But if you choose to consider the ideas put forth and to understand them yourself then you can take a lot from it. It does help if you've got a...

    Quanta to Quarks thoughts

I was worried about a 7marker on particle accelerators, that was about the least in-depth thing i studied for the option. One of the practise tests I did the day before had a 7marker on the manhattan project so i was cheering in the test. I'm hoping for a good mark here

    calcium carbonate q

Usually it shouldnt matter unless its a question regarding states of matter (like the ammonia question, but we were already given that equation so it didnt matter in that question). If it was about observing the CO2 bubbles or something we'd need it. I'm not sure how lenient they'll be in that...

    guess ur raw mark

If its the easiest subject they make why does it scale so highly? I wouldn't expect to get a mark of 95+ if you're primary concern is getting out early to get stoned in the park

    Adv. English is a joke

If you wanna return to basics why are you studying ADVANCED english? The entire premise of the subject is that you already know the basics from junior schooling. That said, while I dont find the course completely pointless I can see some validity in people's opinions.

    Petition For Crime Question

The question was supposed to throw people off. Its one of those questions designed so that the band 6 people can (generally) differentiate themselves from the lower bands. They have one in every test and it always gets teachers looking through the syllabus to see where it came in. Last year the...

    calcium carbonate q

By subscripts do you mean solid (s), gas (g) or aqueous (aq)? I think they do take marks off for that coz for the last two years my teacher would always tell people what state they're in. We used to get marks taken off for it in internal exams at least

    Question 19 - Apollo 13/Newton in the Driver's Seat

I took it to mean after the slingshot effect, so mainly based my answer on the laws of gravity. Thinking about it now to get full marks (wasnt it worth 3 or 4?) they probably expect something on escape velocity/slingshot effect. I'm agreeing with Xenocide and Abtari on this one but

    guess ur raw mark

My phys teacher reckons the state average will be about 40, so some of you are either really smart or really over-confident. The marking criteria for the questions can take a fair toll on your mark. Its easy to get an answer for everything but lose one mark here and there. 95+ is a fairly high...

Explain how you assessed the reliability of induction information.

I totally misread this question. I talked about induction motors and braking and how we did pracs to test whether the principles of the application worked. Then setup a control and repeated to test reliability. There goes a decent mark for that question

    this years band 6 cutoff

My teacher had a look at the exam afterwards and reckons the state average will be about 40. Band 4/5 cut-off will probably be about 60 so band 5/6 cutoff hopefully high 70s low 80s. Not really sure in depth how it all works but

    calcium carbonate q

It all came flooding back to me after I left the exam. At most it'll be 1 mark that gets taken away but.

    The Haber Process Question

I wrote that the equilibrium is re-established (after explaining Le Chatiler's principle) but I forgot to draw in the graph that its re-established. I think it depends on the marker and the marking quidelines as to whether they'll that kinda stuff slide

Yeah, thats wrote I wrote too. hopefully its right but i'm not sure if it is

    calcium carbonate q

I'm not sure which one's right but i think that i might've gotten it wrong. Thank god the molar ratios ended up the same so i could at least get part of the question right
