School partners are part of the sports association, given out to partner schools of which there are about 70 to students the uni feels will benefit the sporting assoc. and the general community of the uni. worth $2500
SAM is to encourage drama, music and volunteer work, and is worth $1000...
waste of tiiiiiiiiime, mabye if you went in there knowing nothing you'd find it sort of helpful ... kind of ... but it is very dragged out.
Plus if you used the web page to construct your timetable, the last 20 minutes are pointless cause it goes through how to read the hard copy of the FULL...
Just get in there nice n' early, the bulk of the ppl won't be enrolling in classes until their department's day, meaning if ya beat that crowd, you're safe.
How much did it feel like we needed to do something else! He gives me the envelope and explains it then asks for the next person. And I'm like..."is that it?", and I got the impression he thought i was being rude
So of course I ended up taking a walk round the campus cause it felt...
Trust me, it'll all make sence once you have the undergraduate handbook. It's a big chunky book that lists the details of every single degree, and every single subject that is avaliable to be slotted into your timetable.
They were selling them at advisory day for $10, although I don't think...
That'd be right, it's not like you JUST have classes with other ppl doing your degree.
You could be in a commerce lecture with some people doing B Commerce, then some people who are doing (for example) B Media but chose commerce subjects for there optional units, then mabye some more people...
Oh trust me, there's plenty of those in there. I'm still pretty impressed with managing to sqeeze it all in 3. And if it wasn't for those stupid lectures i'd be there for the one day only...
Live on campus jlh! as if uni life can't be made even better by livin' there!
I would too ... but yeh, when I only live 20 min away, my parents aren't too convinced.
But yeh, I'll be studying B Media in visual production. See you guys at the bar!
I'm starting to think this is a major case of personal preference! I think I'm gonna take goodtogo's advice and stick to 1 hr gaps to start off with, as much as I wanna go with flyin's 2hr gaps, I don't think I could stand being stuck around waiting for a class when I could be off at the beach...
oooooh ok did you buy the $10 undergraduate book? in there it outlines your degree, the core subjects ya have to pick, but then you have optional subjects to choose from.
it's not like they give you a timetable based on your degree. you choose the subjects ya wanna use your optional credit...
From the main page, click on the scroll bar on the left that says 'Popular Links', then highlight Timetables. From there, to make a personal timetable, click on '2004 Grid Maker', then be ready to input your subjects.
What course you taking?
I'm pretty sure MQ isn't sending out notifaction till the 20th/21st. I applied for School Partners scholarship and the SAM scholarship, both of which sent out letters saying that's when to expect 'em.
Ooooooh, now that's making more sence, I thought you meant 2 hrs between sessions.
Yeh the problem I'm having though is since I'm only doing 18 credit points in first year (9 per semester), I only have 3 tutorials and 2 lectures to fit in first semester.
So my choices are bunch them into...
Hey guys
Just wondering, I've been accepted into a B Media in Visual Production for 2004, and I'm in the process of putting together a timetable on that funky lil' grid-maker on the Macq web page.
My question is when chosing which tutorials to attend, are you better off leaving 1hr gaps...
Is there anyone out there who does this degree? I can't decide at the moment between Arts/Law and the BBA/A-Psych. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
hehe, good ol' alington, y'know the funny thing was, he was the ONE member of the music staff that didn't come up to our class and wish us luck when we were waiting outside before the exam.
