    waxing

LOL, one of my friends is an abnormally hairy asian guy and he uses dipilatory cream and Nair bleach in combination rather than wax because he's sensitive to pain. :p He grows hair in funny places too, like his shoulders, chest to stomach area and lower back and he was embarassed to...

A Feast For Crows - George RR Martin

No way, I really like the skipping between different perspectives because it really gives you insight to how each character thinks and feels. Like Tyrion, boy did I misjudge him, but I love that he gets to show his point of view. ASoIaF is probably one of my fav. fantasy reads but I have a...

    Intro Macro/Micro

He doesn't use the lecture slides that come with the textbook at all, just the graphs and diagrams from the website. The lecture slides on the site are just headings.

Is this the norm? Or did I get a little bonus? HELP!

Not once you start, no. You'll have to apply to transfer into a combined degree if you just enrolled in plain Arch to start with. Think of it as the same as 'Combined Law' courses that all have the same UAC code, yet you can choose Arts/Law, Commerce/Law, Science/Law etc. but can't swap from...

Scan the pic in! I want to know someone 'famous'. :p

How long do you shower for?

LOL, I just timed how long I took in the shower just then! Minus time spent dressing, 12 minutes all up. :p Shorter than I previously thought, but still bad compared to your 5mins ones.

USYD Commerce cut-off now higher than UNSW's

 They don't become theories until they've been tested and proved true. I'm formally renaming them, henceforth, as the Omni and Dragon hypotheses. A UAI can be treated as a real financial asset, as investing it into a particular degree at a particular university and obtaining a stated...

    Cutoff Trends

It's nice to see UNSW's cutoff rising slightly from it's 0.20 drop last year, it was so surprising to see it drop so much that year. And USYD's 0.05 drop would've been useful last yr when one of my friends had to go full-fee because she missed by 0.05. >.< All these high cutoffs definately show...

Once a cheater, Always a cheater

I think, as a general rule, a cheater will always have the same mentality that pushed him/her to cheating in the first place. They might never have opportunity to cheat again, but given an opportunity it is highly likely they would do so again.

UAC main-round offers; what'd you get?

Congrats to everyone who have achieved their dream course! :D If you're who I think you are (you're the high boy that got 99.95 right?) - law?! I heard you were interested in Med or Science. (Unless you're not who I think you are >.<) But good job anyways, and congrats!

Help!!!! I need a good sunscreen!!!!

I second the aloe vera. The sap is icky, but it really works a treat for bad sunburns so that you'll have no scar. My cleavage area (from neck to top of boobs) was red and sore about 2 weeks ago from sunbathing in garden and I kept alternating between aloe vera at night and moisturiser in the...

    the 'I HATE SUPRE' thread

Ummm... I'm not sure I HATE Supre, but I really do think I'm scared of it: the loud disco music, bright light and lines of leopard print lycra make it really uninviting at best. Yes, I understand it's cheap, but there are many other alternatives. Think Cotton On for one, Valley Girl, Temp...

    Pregnancy Scares

Ahahaha once when I was 12 I told my mum that I thought I was pregnant because I didn't put tissue paper on the seat of the public toilets before sitting on it. :p

Do you prefer to be overdressed or underdressed?

By nature I'm more overdressed than most people because I like getting dressed up and trying different outfits. At the same time, when I'm wearing something bummy I feel shy and less like myself. So I think I prefer being overdressed, even if it means having ppl whisper "Look at what she's...

    collars up?

The 'half-flip' is marginally acceptable (back flipped up, lapels down), though still doesn't look very nice. It's so faux indifference - "I Soooo don't care what I look like, I didn't even look in the mirror this morning". The only acceptable excuse is if you've been battling the elements...

    Laptops for Uni

I got my beaut LG tablet for $2200 and it's working lovely so far. I highly recommend it. It's <2kg, so no more carrying around bulking textbooks and pens and paper for me. If you end up getting a tablet, get a convertible rather than a slate. I've been typing most of the time but I can just...

    Intro Macro/Micro

:) I didn't have Atta, but I did hear that his exams were painful. I had Catherine Roc who would be one of the better lecturers. Her lecture notes were too brief for me, but she did explain things really well and she made attempts at humour which are a plus in my book. The perfect eco...

    Intro Macro/Micro

I can give you more than an idea if you want. :) But assessments may change from year to year and may differ between streams. Microeconomics 1. Mid-semester test 1 - Weighting 20% 2. Mid-semester test 2 - Weighting 20% 3. Final examination - Weighting 60% The mid-semesters were average...
