You are so lucky you get to do graphic notation!! We did them all the time (requested by the class) so this time they said we had to do a serious one :( you can practise by listening to your fave song and drawing each melodic line the way you hear it. just draw everything you hear...

If the story is 'commercial' anyway, you shouldnt have a prolem with it, because generally people will know about the story. for eg: my friend is doing a very long engagement. alot of people who dont like foreign films necessarily, have seen it, so that would be ok. but a text that isnt well...

oh ok, its not :P uumm personally, i would be screwed if i hadnt done prelim. I think you do need it. a girl joined my class who hadnt done year 9 + 10 french, and is now topping our continuers class, but she is french, so that might be one explanation!
