    Prohibited Vehicles?

They are probably familiar with most of the usual culprits. All the Jap rockets - GTRs, GTiRs, etc. But I doubt they'd be able to pick out a Volvo 850R (184kW turbo) from a Volvo 850SE (125kw NA) - the difference being a rear spoiler and subtle front skirt. It's pot luck, I think.

    Rotary engine Vs. Piston engine

Hmmm... The amount of torque a 1.3l rotary develops is far more than a 1.3l piston. I suppose what you meant is that a 1.3l rotary develops less torque than a piston engine with equivalent kWs. Considering in most cases this piston engine would be a big block v8 or a turbocharged affair, then...

    Average Marks Needed

Hurri just said it up above - ACER has it's own scaling system which takes into account question difficulty, both relative to others (questions) within the exam, and relative to those given the previous year (based on candidate performance on said question). However they have never released...

The volume knob on my car stereo broke

A bottle-cap, a file, and some plastic putty. Semi-permanent solutions are often the most permanent of them all.

To do medicine do you need to have done Chemistry?

Not all unis. Adelaide has no prerequisites. Monash, OTOH asks for Chemistry. I'm not sure, but I think Melbourne does too.

What's a good car for around $10,000 or more?

The M52 alloy block was prone to corrosion when running bad fuel, like the Nikasil & Alusil issue in the large M60 V8 of the same time. Although Aussie fuel is not as notorious as US for quality, it's worth getting a compression check, to make sure.

    Average Marks Needed

Hmm.. 180 is worth more than 230. I got something like 239-240 with a 172. But that should do it. On average + v.good EN/TER/OP/UAI/etc.

    Spray Jobs?

Lots of info in various threads on this. Price doesn't depend on car brand, depends on respray quality. Things which can change the price - Metallic / Pearl / etc. - Door Jambs, engine compartment, or just exterior - is it a full colour change? - Bare metal, or straight over old paint? -...

    Muffler Tips

A regular tip will make no difference whatsoever to sound. There are some with internal membranes that can alter the sound of the exhaust. I even remember one for sale on eBay a while back, with a metal membrane which vibrates to the gas flow, supposedly creating a sound like blow-off valve.

    Rotary engine Vs. Piston engine

Rotary vs. Piston Positive: High Revvability High power per litre ratio All are RWD (pos or neg, either way) Fuel consumption better than piston engines of similar power Negative: Short lifespan - seals don't last long Hard to service Small aftermarket // Have to buy genuine parts...

The volume knob on my car stereo broke

I doubt there's anything you can really do about that. Especially if it's an old mode. 1. Use it as is. 2. Buy a new identical unit and transfer the button 3. Buy an old different unit with similar button, and see if you can transfer. 4. Buy a new unit and throw out the old one. I'd go...

    UMAT ticket confusion

I was 16 with no learners when I did UMAT. I brought a school ID Card (for use in library, etc - with DOB and Photo and Sig.) and my passport. I never had to take the passport out - the school ID was fine.

how can i beat the speeding ticket?

On what grounds are you refuting its validity? Because that ink excuse will not hold up anywhere. You said that you sped. You got a ticket. You pay the ticket. I think it's pretty simple. Don't speed. Or don't get caught speeding. One speeding ticket is not about to tarnish your record, and...

    1j for the volvo?

Big-block V8s do not do any wonders for handling. Anyways, B234FT is where it's at.

    UMAT Courses

For a transfer (where you move before finishing your course), you sit the UMAT. For graduate entry (where you move after finishing your course), you sit GAMSAT. For success, uni marks are important in both.
