Lots of info in various threads on this. Price doesn't depend on car brand, depends on respray quality.

Things which can change the price
- Metallic / Pearl / etc.
- Door Jambs, engine compartment, or just exterior - is it a full colour change?
- Bare metal, or straight over old paint?
- How straight are the panels (how many dents and kinks must be fixed)
- Amount of work you are willing to do prior to panel beater

Below is (my) estimate of doing a colour change, over old paint, with engine compartment and door jambs, all dents repaired by panel beater and with all mechanicals and trim pieces removed by yourself. Very rough -

Low end - $3000
Mid, reasonable - $5500
High end - $8800

It goes higher than that, but I doubt you'd consider prices with 5 figures.

End of the day: Unless you own a Mercedes 300SL, or a Porsche Carerra - it's not worth it. For the price of a good job, you could sell your current car, add the money of the respray, and buy an example with pristine paint - and still have money left over.

That is, unless you can do ALL the labour, aside from the painting yourself. Or purchase your own compressor and paint it yourself. But that's something I'd do - I don't know any girl who would consider it.

1800 for the whole car?? I don't think he will be doing the whole car for 1800!
if its just a respray, then its exterior only. 1800 is beleivable
