i said that things like christmas are now a national public holiday, regardless of your religion. i also said that things like marriage have legal concerns and stuff now, and that something like 40% of australians have non-religious celebrants or other stuff now. meh im SO glad its over!

exactly! i don't really want this argument to continue, but anyone who says that 12 speeches is easier than one novel they are kidding themselves! 12 speeches, some, like atwood's which are VERY long, with completely different values and attitudes, contexts, authors and devices and...

the christmas/ marriage question was bullshit

most people aren't aupset because they didnt know the speeches. they are upset because, for 5 years they ask for 2, and then our year they ask for 3 - most people didn't practise essays with 3 speeches - people are allowed to be shocked. i know i was, and i had studied all of the speeches...

lol...everyone is being so nasty. so what if the bos technically has the power to do whatever they want, including asking for 3 speeches. people ARE allowed to be shocked, especially if they weren't expecting it - even if they did study all the speeches, as time was definately a factor. jeez...

i stuck to my 40 mins for each essay. had to cut some out of each, but i finished all of them.

i did atwood, socrates and luther. didnt really answer the Q, just wrote an essay, so im stuffed! i just made up crap in the intro about defending against what the other person said.

i like ext 1, we do postmodernism.

...i thought it was hard, especially writing 3 speeches...emma and clueless was ok...but the others... the speeches i did were atwood and socrates, with martin luther king tacked on the end.

lol, i studied atwood in depth! atwood and socrates are my main two that i know VERY well. i should learn some others, hey!!!!!!! lol i know most of them generally, im just praying that they dont specify like in our trial!

count yourselves lucky. if you were doing internet speeches, there are like 13 of them and they HAVE specified in the hsc before, and the did specify in our trials. so they have specified texts in the past for hsc paper 2, and there is every possibility that they will this yr - highly possible...

i wrote 7.5 for the first section. 8.5 for the second section. and about 12/13 for the 3rd section, i didnt count that one. but 3 booklets per section...extreme to say the least!

i had 10 minutes to spare at the end. i read the supp. texts in reading time, then jumped into Q1. then i did the essay coz i knew i needed at least 50 minutes for it. i had memorised my creative so i got it done in 20 mins. but i was so scared...ive never had time to spare in an english paper!
