    Economics Honours

I got a letter from the School of Economics inviting me into the Honours program. I got 66 (Cr) in Microeconomics and 81(Dn) in Macroeconomics. I'm not sure of the exact requirements needed for entry into honours subjects though...

    subjects for accounting

The subjects listed are in the faculty handbook: http://www.usyd.edu.au/handbooks/economics_business/04_ugcourses.shtml (Note: it will take a little while to load.) Scroll down the page until you get to Accounting, and it'll have all the units you need to do for CPA/CA.

LET's bring some life to this forum!!!

Yeh, Geo has been on the decline for quite a while now. In Yr11 our class had about 11 students. By Yr12 there were only 5 of us left. It probably doesn't have a great reputation in terms of the HSC and UAI, but stick with it. Despite the fact it doesn't scale as well as other subjects, if you...

    Lenth of Geo Essay

Yeh, thats the advice I received from my teacher as well. The reason for headings and subheadings is so that the essay is presented in a more structured way for the marker and certainly makes it easier for yourself when you're writing it. Diagrams, charts and maps are certainly encouraged but...

    Another enrolling problem :(

The standard load is 24 credit points a semester, so thats 4 courses a semester. You've definately exceeded the maximum load by choosing 5 courses. Yeh I think you've interpreted him wrong. When he says you a choose a course from each of your majors along with the core courses, he is...

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

AIBF: http://www2.banking.unsw.edu.au/nps/servlet/portalservice?GI_ID=System.LoggedOutInheritableArea&maxWnd=_Future_ProfessionalRecognition The reason why I transferred from USYD to UNSW was the fact that I couldn't fit all the required courses of CPA/CA into a normal 3yr 144 credit point...

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

Well the LEGT courses are required for professional recognition by CPA/CA: http://www2.accounting.unsw.edu.au/nps/servlet/portalservice?GI_ID=System.LoggedOutInheritableArea&maxWnd=_Future_ProfessionalRecognition

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

Fo Accounting, you'd have to do LEGT1711(For CPA/CA), ACCT2522, ACCT2542, LEGT2721 and LEGT2741. But yeh some subjects are only offered in specific Sessions (eg S1 or S2, but some are offered in both S1 and S2), so you have to try fit that all in, along with QMA. Additionally, if you want be...

    Does anyones webct work?

Most of your units are from the Economics and Business Faculty, and the faculty doesn't use Webct. It uses "Blackboard" (which is pretty much the same thing), this is where your Eco and Business units of study will be located. Blackboard is at ...

    accounting. is it hard?

I don't think accounting would be necessarily any easier or harder at different uni's. It's essentially the same content (for Introductory Accounting anyway) and the only reason why one uni would be harder than another would be if the lecturers set harder/easier exams. And not too many people...

    Does Anyone Know....

I transferred from USYD commerce to UNSW commerce, and I had 7 of the 8 units I did at USYD credited. So yeah you won't need to restart again in 1st year, but you may need to catch up on a few units depending on how many units you get credited at your new uni.

    hours/week

You need to allocate yourself to tutorials for ACCT, Micro and QMA. You can do this at: http://admin.fce.unsw.edu.au/htbin/taspref.exe

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

You can go in person to the FCE student centre (John Goodsell Building) or post in your transcript along with the application for advanced standing/credit form.(which is found somewhere on myunsw- yeh don't have actual site, i came across it by chance). But yeh it must be in by 28th Jan.

    Third Major for Bcomm

Yes you can triple major, but in reality you're unlikely to have enough credit points to be able to satisfy the requirements for each individual major. The Faculty is unlikely to let you go over the 144 credit points in the degree to get a triple major, so its unlikely you'll get an exemption...

2005 University Offers - Post them here (No spam)!

TRANSFER-NRSL From USYD Commerce to UNSW Commerce 2003 UAI - 95.90 2004 GPA - 5.25 2005 Main Round Cutoff -95.00 I'm surprised the cutoff dropped to 95.00 this year. But yeh little sad to leave USYD, enjoyed my 1st yr at uni there but at the end of the day UNSW had a little bit more...

    Economics

Umm, well technically it is possible to do a double major and have a minor, but in reality you're unlikely to have enough credit points to be able to do that. And you have very little chance of convincing the Commerce/economics faculty to let you overload (go over 144 credit points) for your...

    Cpa / Ca

Yeh with the following program at USYD, you'll satisfy the requirements for both CPA and CA. And it's a BCom program majoring in Accounting and Finance, so you just manage to squeeze in two majors into the degree (since some ACCT and FIN subjects overlap) and theres no need to overload to...

    Carr or Brogden?

If the election was held now, Labor would find itself in alot of trouble. There would be a backlash in light of the cityrail problems. Since elections aren't till 2007, Carr has a bit of time to rectify the problem and the cityrail issue will probably die down by then (unless the problem gets...
