OHhhh....had my Visual arts annual today....

there always seems to be a signs & symbols question in section 2... ...but don't bet on it. i've had friends that only ever wrote pretty much the same signs and symbols essay in every exam... but they'd be screwed if the signs and symbols question turned up in section 1 instead.

Who wants to get an art-ish job?

ehh, bugger it. do what you want, don't worry about the statistics. personally, i'd rather be an unemployed graphic designer than an employed office bitch :p (just quietly though, i've heard that the employment rate for industrial designers in australia is really quuite low... like, less...

    Can i use a candle?

i'm not sure. it might be good to ring up the hsc helpline thingy, i did that last year when i had problems with my BoW... or your art teacher might be able to put you in contact with someone at the BoS involved in art. i'd say you'd be ok, personally, but that's just going on a whim. have a...

thoughts after open days at usyd/uts

yeah i'm thinking of transferring to design (viscom)/arts (internantional studies) next year and from what i've heard the uts humanities courses are very socially progressive and all that. uts could do with some more grass. but i live at usyd, so that's not really an issue :p

    Arghhhh Art Due This Wk!

ehh, if you think it's pretty well finished, i suggest relaxing a bit. write some closing thoughts in your VAPD, maybe touch one or two peices up... don't do too much now, i think. read a book, go outside... or (heaven forbid) study for something else...

    open days on sat 30th

as a guess, i'd say this "expo" is different to a regular open day. it'd make sense to have one every year. one every 4 years is just silly. how are they going to recruit students then?

    uts students

the answers: - no. great people, course is pretty cool, etc etc. - perhaps COFA (which is part of UNSW), to do art history and theory. but i'm pretty happy here. so, i might say no... for now. - worst stuff: no big lawns or grass! building 1 (big tower thing) is bloody ugly (thankfully i...

ehh! the pub they filmed that fake beer ad in is across the road from UTS!!! it's the coolest, all the design faculty types drink there.

    open day

i'm told uts journalism/communications/etc courses are pretty good. i don't really know though, don't have any friends doing journalism... if you can't make the open day it's no big deal. if you want, email some faculty people, see if you can get the uni to send you out osme pamphlets, etc etc...

    BOW progress and feedback

i think, if you like your idea, stick with it. get a few second opinions and stuff though... other art staff, teachers from other schools, if you know any practising artists etc... but the birth thing sounds really cool + unique. if you think about it, there will probably be a fair few other...

What is your oppinion of UTS?

pfft, i knew you'd pick up on that...we have some grass, and some of that grass has trees on it... but if you really want grass, you can walk the 10 min down the road to victoria park, that has heaps of grass, and trees, and a swimming pool and dogs and occasional english backpackers who want...

What is your oppinion of UTS?

i go there. don't do nursing though. it's not too bad. but very little grass, and no trees, which is a bit of a downer. and there's more to UTS than that gigantic tower building which everyone seems to think we all cram into we have 10 buildings. that's building one. the biggest, ugliest...
