i just read some old thread, and they had to go and sit for a 2 hour rehearsal, then 2 hour ceremony, and got a glass trophy - some dude's mum cleaned his with windex and alll the writing came off the back !

NO WAY!!!!! They select 12 or so people to perform/have their compositions performed who they like and think would make a good concert - timing/preparation/variety etc. It has next to nothing to do with marks or ranks.

Go to your local library, or Dymocks city store has lots of audio-tapes.
