If you check here, there are some resources for both the preliminary and HSC courses. There are past/practise papers located here. There are also some stickied threads in this forum that provide resources. But if you have any questions yourself from school, please post them up and we can help you.

    HSc subjects - Medical Science

If you don't do maths, you will have a lot of trouble with first year, since it is compulsory to do maths (mathematics, at the minimum).

    Job + Uni

I am currently doing a science degree. I'm at university 5 days a week, I usually work Thursday nights, and all day Saturday and Sunday (usually about 15 hours per week). In fact, a few times I skipped my Fridays to do some shifts. I still managed to get a distinction average. The main reason...

    Subject choices?

Withdrawns only show on your online results. When you receive results in the mail, only the subjects you completed appear (If all the subjects that I enrolled in appeared, I'd have about 7 or 8 subjects per semester appearing).

    UAIs in paper

Re: UAI in the paper UAIs have never been published. As mentioned in this thread numerous times, UAIs will never be published in the newspaper. You are the only one who will know, unless you tell others.
  6. tennille

How many people receive UAI above 99?

It is slightly higher than that as the UAI assumes that all students in year 10 continued on to year 12.

    Band 6's in Sydney Paper

It is most likely a typo. A band six is 90+.

?? Science - Psychology vs. Medical Science vs. Education ??

You can major in stuff like biochemistry, physiology, etc, but the second year units are specific BMED units.
  9. tennille

    Band 6's in Sydney Paper

A band 6 includes 90. So you will be on the honour roll if you received 90 for a subject.
  10. tennille

    same mark different band??

It might just be a typo or something. She can try calling up the board of studies if she is concerned. It won't make a difference in the UAI because UAC looks at the marks, not the bands.

what happens if your close to the course cut-off?

UAI cut-offs as well as main round offers will be published in the newspaper (I think both the Daily Telegraph and SMH) on 18/01/07, the day after main round offers are made over the internet.

?? Science - Psychology vs. Medical Science vs. Education ??

Well, it depends what you really have an interest in. If you like science and education, you can do B science/B education. That'll enable you to do psychology as well. If you do B Science, you can do similar subjects to B Medical Science. The main difference is that Medical Science is more...

So whats first? UAI cut-offs or Uni main round offers?

Main round offers will be released on 17/01/07 at 9pm. UAI cut-offs as well as main round offers will be published in the newspaper the next day.

    my uai

The truth is that you don't know the cut-off of the course. The 2007 cut-off may increase, or it may decrease. If the cut-off remained at 60, there is a chance that you might not make it, regardless if your RET score is one point below. However, there is a possibility they may accept you in the...

    Band 6's in Sydney Paper

Anyone who achieves 90+ (band 6) for any of their HSC subjects will be in the distinguished achiever's list and therefore published in the newspaper tomorrow.

    Can someone estimate my uai

Please use SAM. My estimate is high 90s (most likely 98ish-I don't want to give you an exact figure because this is only an estimate). :)
  17. tennille

    How accurate is SAM?

SAM is quite accurate for PREVIOUS years. So, it is possible to end up with a UAI that is different to what SAM predicts, and it most likely will be. How much it differs by depends on how the rest of the state performed. When I put my marks in for the year 2004, it was 0.05 off.

Post your 2006 HSC results here!

If it makes you feel any better, I got below the cut-off for advanced science at usyd, and they still accepted me in the main round. I think you have a chance.

Post your 2006 HSC results here!

    I think it's tomorrow.
