court visit - observations and ethics law208

I dont think you are alone. I initially struggled in Contracts before I grasped how to correctly do problem questions. A lot of people at uni struggle with Contracts because it is the first substantive law subject that they study. This is difficult compared the approach of the first year...

    What you hate about UTS

I hate when I have classed in the Tower/Markets straight after a class in the other. Always running late to the next class. Luckily none of the tutors this sem care. In other semesters, tutors have cared.

    Insane work load

KGB, When doing your readings, you can discern what is important or not. You need to chill out a bit and take the readings as they come. The reading for MPO can be skim read. The lecture notes provide the basic points and if you need any clarification, read that section of the book...

    Insane work load

I have to say that most of the above advice is correct, I understand that the first semester does seem a bit daunting and it is a big step up from high school. This is always going to happen as you need to read chapters instead of 5 pages for each class. One of the first strategies that I...

    Past Exam Papers

The Library website has some exam papers. I think if you put the name in subject resources, you may find some exam papers.

    Insane work load

In the 10 minutes reading time, everyone practically worked out the answers. Most of my room left as soon as we were allowed to. But after 20 mins, most people had handed up their tests.

    Insane work load

The key to uni is being selective in your study. You know how you learn best. Some people read the textbook word for word; others attend the lectures and/or tutorials; others can just cram a week before. The key is working out what the subject considers important and not and focusing upon...

Doing the subjects Company Law and Taxation Law together too crazy?

You would potentially be able to take ATBD at the City campus this semester due to the fact that a failure to do so would impede your progression throughout your degree. But you have probably left it too late.

about lecture notes and tutorial reading materials

You print them off. For lecturers to print them off for everyone would be a nightmare. You can print them off as 3 slides per page (leaves space for notes) or 6 slides per page. You do probably go through a printer cartridge a semester (maybe 2). Alternatively you can print them off at uni...

    No tutorials for week 1

All subjects start in different weeks dependent on what the co-ordinator of the subject chooses. Some of the co ordinators like to have a tutorial in Week 1 in order to do all the intro/house keeping stuff. Go on UTSOnline and find the subject outline. Go to the tutorial outline and you...

    Question About Subject Exemptions

Take your academic transcript and any course outlines. As the UWS transfer to UTS is quite common, they will most likely have a list of approved subject exemptions.

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked and Secks!!' Thread Fair enough. I have my tutorials on Wednesday straight after each other which is pretty good. The lectures are all I have on Monday so its pretty much go to the first few and see if they are useful/useless. I am not 100% sure about IP either. I...

    Attending Lectures

Lectures can be bought from the Audio Visual place in Building 5. My friend bought a few last semester. I suppose it depends on the subject.

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked and Secks!!' Thread The system is pathetic. Why not just send out a new card each year? Global financial crisis?? I suppose I will head in before work as well.

procedure to take 5 subjects during a semester...?

You could potentially get away with it if the subjects are only offered in one semester (Autumn/Spring). They dont usually like people finishing their degrees earlier as a reason unless it is your last/second last semester and you need to do 1 subject to avoid a pointless 1 subject semester...
