BAcc 2008 Applicants to 2009 entry

Re: BAcc 2008... Shadow Swifter.... It is probably difficult for a first semester job at these places. However, many after Semester 1 got credit averages and just sent emails and resumes to the HR departments of the big accounting/auditing firms asking for employment or unpaid training...

BAcc 2008 Applicants to 2009 entry

Re: BAcc 2008... A word of advice is that you shouldnt be discouraged if you dont receive an offer. I personally didnt apply because Accounting isnt my thing but friends of mine did and didnt receive a place. The best advice after looking at all cadet/co-op options is to just get into a...

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked, Party, Secks; Exams over! ' Thread I officially enrolled in Business/Law at UTS today. Pretty hard to make a timetable when all the other kids have taken the good classes. Hoping a few people decide to change classes tomorrow after results and then I can get some...

What do you hate about law students?

An arsehole is an arsehole irrespective of the degree that they are doing. I have no real problem with law students generally. Obviously some are going to be arseholes but thats a minority.

UTS Semester 2: 2008 Buying & Selling Books Thread

Malfoy.... Rather than buying people's notes, I would recommend purchasing Essential Contracts and Essential Torts. They are two study guides whic practically summarise the courses. They are about $40 each and I buy them in addition to the set texts as they clarify things a lot easier than...

    Single or Double-degree

No downsides in my opinion to a double degree. Some people say its a year wasted (5 years instead of 4 years) but I like the comfort in being able to combine my legal interests with business interests and having the ability to choose different career paths. I do Business (HRM) with my Law...

Questions about Straight Law @ UTS

    (1) You can do PLT in the final semester instead of 24cp of electives. Upon completion, you are able to apply for admission as a solicitor. PLT is the equivalent to Colloge of Law or the Diploma of Legal Practice. You get a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice conferred upon completion (2)...

    General UTS chit-chat

Re: The UTS 'Get Naked, Party, Secks; Exams over! ' Thread Doesnt mean that at all. You can still fail. It is just that some convenors reckon if you are close enough, you deserve the chance to re-do the exam to get a pass grade instead. Usually within the CP range.

    perspectives on law

I fortunately get an exemption from Perspectives on Law. Its 5 hours a week. I was told the new course is a lot more streamlined than when it was worth 10cp.

Maybe, they are aware what has happened and scaled you accordingly. You sat half the exam, so they probably could accurately predict your mark.

    selling textbooks

Not sure. Go through the Co Op text lists and all the subjects you will need to do. If it doesnt come up, you probably wont need it.
