    It is highly likely you will need to write one of those algorithms in the HSC. It will, however, will not be in isolation. When you are asked to write one of those algorithms, it will have to be incorporated in the solution of a much larger problem. Also, I don't think you need to learn them off...

    Subject CHoices...

    I don't believe it is necessary to do Extension 1 Mathematics to be able to do well in Physics. 2U Mathematics is just fine, if you can understand almost everything in that course. Extension 1 and Extension 2 just make topic areas like projectile motion harder.

    Remember that Speed = Distance / Time So, If the speed is same in both frames of reference, then the distance and time must be changing ! That is, 'time dilation' and 'length contraction.'

    The mirror experiment is just after the train door experiment in the Jacaranda textbook. The mirror experiment also happens on a train. Also, you don't need to derive the equations.

    English Is....

    English is first because everybody does the Area Of Study and most of the state also does Advanced paper 2, so the English exam takes the longest to mark as there are many more answer booklets to mark than in any other exam.

    Yeah, this type of question is likely to appear in the HSC. We had it in our trial HSC and it seems like a fairly common question to ask.

    Well, the only point in the syllabus is : + "Explain how a flip flop can be used in the storage and shifting of a bit in memory." Does your book (this question is for SamD) answer the part about "shifting of a bit in memory" ? I had a quick look at your book because I couldn't find it...

    In an exam, when it asks whether the given data should be in a relational or flat file database, it apparently doesn't matter which one you choose. As long as you can justify your decision. A relational database is, however, the one that is the easiest to justify and virtually the right answer...
