haha sydney like harvard? aussie unis are miniscule by most standards. that applies to them all. whether a uni is good would have to depend on what you're studying. eg. mq has a v. strong rep for applied finance- that is recognised in industry. if you wnt to do honours, then a uni with a strong...

How much off your required UAI are you? Some unis only have a leeway of 5 or so marks (i think USYD)... I'm not 100% sure.. But like ppl here have said, check it out with a uni rep. goodluck :)

I've heard of ppl who have applied for a clerical recheck and ended up worse off. Of course, it could end up either way.

Re: 'they say public schools cnt (sic) go well' Yes it's public. Virtually all selective schools are govt schools ie. public schools. There are also private schools which are also selective in relation to the admittance of students. eg. Grammar.

for these reasons, i don't take these lists seriously. in reality, small schools may be performing better than the large schools who get high numbers of Hon. Mentions. should be calculated as a %age of students so that fairer comparisons across schools can be made.

i've decided i'm goin to do commerce/ecos instead of com/law. i'm pretty sure i'll get in since my uai is way over what's needed, i'm not sure how my accomm. application is goin tho :( i plan to do the law degree o'seas and hence save myself some time (at least 1yr)
