Its overall mark, so if you dont come first in your year you've got almost no chance of first in the state. Generally someone gets 100 after aligning

I think you also need to consider that theres a good chance that people with higher uais that get into compsci will be combining with something else. Afaik you cant do co-op with a combined degree (or at least its why i never applied).

umm its possible, but i dont think with any methods learnt in the hsc. You'll have to start integrating polar coordinates and use double integration

Quite a few 3rd year subjects at usyd don't require any previous knowledge, and they do allow the more talented first year students to undertake them. From memory, some subjects you can take are MATH3065 - Logic and Foundations and MATH3067 - Information and Coding Theory
