Critic's top 10 lists 2005 Interesting to see that only a handful of critics had Broken Flowers in their top 10 when everyone on BOS seems to love it. Also interesting to see 2046 doing so well. The Squid and the Whale is now on my to watch list.

    Chinese mainland movies...imported here?

Speaking of Chinese mainland movies.. I saw the trailer for Promise. I don't think I've seen dodgier special effects in the past 10 years. Does anyone know if it's worth seeing at all?

I find Tottenham going down to Leicester much more amusing than all the upsets.

Evra is pure class, I'm gutted Liverpool didn't make a move for him. Riise's doing a good job for us there but if he gets injured or needs a rest, we'd be in trouble.

    Lost In Translation

I'll agree with pretty much all of that. Broken Flowers is probably my favourite movie for the year, but having said that, nothing this year really amazed me quite the way Lost in Translation did. Actually Lost in Translation is the movie that got me into movies.

Everyone seems to love Raiders of the Lost Ark, but I always had more fun with The Last Crusade. Fingers crossed for Match Point, the reactions have been very positive pretty much across the board so yeah, i am getting my hopes up :p I'll also add Russian Dolls to my honourable mentions list.

I agree with that as well, although I'm still preparing to be blown away by Munich (no pun intended) and Match Point.

Certain circles amongst Reds fans say that Kuyt is heading to Anfield on loan for the rest of the season on Monday, with Dudek and Pongolle going the other way. It's a bit hard to believe, but I'd love to see it happen.

Henry says he'll be staying at Arsenal and wants to lead them out into the new stadium next year. I have so much respect for this guy. Loyalty's such a hard commodity to find these days.

Well put. People accusing LiT of being racist are being just a tad overzealous surely.

Personally I think if Real fail to win any substantial honours (2nd in the league, semis of the CL), Perez is out of there. Once he's gone, you'll be looking at a whole new club. The Samba boys would be out on their asses for starters.

Portillo is at Fiorentina. Julio Baptista is an attacking midfielder.

I dunno about Carrick as a DM. His defending seems to be comparable to Alonso's to me, and I'm not sure if that's enough protection for the back 3. Happy new year Matt :) If I had adsl where I lived, I'd watch it on pplive. It's on Guangdong Sports and Shanghai Sports (Chinese commentary...

imdb users vote GOBLET OF FIRE as 4th best documentary(!) of the year

There are plenty of intelligent people on IMDb, they're just vastly outnumbered by numbskulls and in the case of these polls, probably kids.

That's a good point, I simply forgot about him. Ditch Rio and slot in Neville then.

Well Sven has come out and said that he wants to find a DM for the World Cup. At the moment I think the best candidate is Ledley King, simply because he's done it extremely well for England before. I think this 3-4-3 is very worth trying out. --------------Owen --------Rooney---Lampard...

I didn't say he was. I said you were trying to undermine his authority in watching film using an extremely flimsy assumption. This is also the reason why you're getting treated as 'intellectually inferior' as you like to put it. Having an opinion is fine, but be prepared to back it up with...

    Lost In Translation

Haven't gone through this thread for a while and I have to say.. I am surprised and very happy to see all the LiT love going on here. The last time I posted it seemed as if most people here totally despised it. Gotta love the weatherwoman returns :D I think every person who loves Lost in...
