Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! Woo, classes are over for the year! Awesome. I can't wait until summer. Does anyone know when the arts faculty will be releasing the list of cross-listed UOS?

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Costello, funny? Yeah, good one. He attempts to emulate Keating, but he has neither Keating's wit nor his passion.

    Extension History '08

You're allowed to do stuff that's covered in the MH syllabus as long as you're not actually going to study it at preliminary or HSC level, so you should be fine. (Bear in mind that Stalingrad is covered in both the USSR topic and the Conflict in Europe topic.)

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

So much for the narrowing. (Not to jump to conclusions based on one poll, but that's a pretty appalling figure whatever way you look at it.) ALP has a new ad on climate change, showing Rudd getting his Al Gore on. Standing in front of a screen and everything! Not on YouTube for some reason, but...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

And I can't find the video, so instead a poll from the marginal Liberal-held electorate of Kingston in SA: according to the Advertiser, it's 56-44 Labor's way from a 45-34 primary. That's a really nasty primary for the Liberals, and I'd be interested to know if there are any local factors...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

No, it was right in the middle of the debate. His face went crazy for a couple of seconds. I'll see if I can find the video on the ABC site.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Yeah, I have no idea how he decided that the point he wanted everyone to get from the debate is that a Howard government is a government that wants children to graduate primary school with basic literacy and numeracy. Also his absurd political crusade against a modern approach to Australian...

Did anyone spot Howard having a weird sort of facial spasm? What was that about?

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

7.30 till 9pm tonight. ABC, Nine and Sky News will all be carrying it, and it'll also be streamed on the ABC News site. Nine will have the worm, I believe.

Heh. That happened to me at the state election. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/20/2065060.htm: Senile much?

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22609753-2,00.html Pauline, it's not so much that he was found guilty, more that he pleaded guilty. Thank god she's running, though, Pauline's campaigns always deliver some welcome comic relief.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Costello attempts to stay on message by connecting two entirely unrelated issues: Because unions hate rich people! And they hate success! And they want to murder your children!

ACNielsen due out in the Fairfax papers tomorrow also. (Which I'd be liable to trust more than Galaxy, given that Galaxy has had a couple of Coalition-leaning outliers this year.)

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! Anyone know why this acknowledgement of country thing has suddenly come up on MyUni? Also, all my essays are in and I'm totally relaxed. It feels damn good. Now I just have to not think about the exams.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! I'm in HK Ward, which is interesting. Never been in that region of the uni before, over on Regimental Crescent. + HSTY1088 is in Storie Dixson? What? There can't be a room big enough to fit a couple of hundred people in there.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Howard stumbles with interest rate gaffe I believe this may well show him to be out of touch with the concerns of Australian working families etc etc etc etc. Given the media's obsession with trivia at election times, this might even put a dent into the coverage of tax policy tomorrow. (Edit...
