    Proper headphones are better for home use, on/in/around ear solutions are better for outdoor/travel. Get an open can like the Alessandro MS-1 if you're looking for quality <$200 (also allows you to hear the environment around you so you're not completely cut off...won't make your ears sweat...

    The main thing to remember is that most of these rankings take into account higher research elements, ie not undergrad. So you'll most likely be looking at these rankings when/if you want to find a good place to do your PhD/Masters etc.
