You probably signed an offer of employment, a contract sets out the amount of hours you do each week, and casuals don't have set hours.

Having gone straight to uni from school, i regret not taking the year off. You are still burnt out from the HSC and need some time to chill and sort your head out (obviously working). You can't get overtime if you are full time (ie on a salary). If you are paid wages (ie an amount per hour for an agreed amount of hours per week) you can do overtime and get paid more for it, but it has to be by mutual agreement with the employer and employee, if the employer doesn't agree to...

You don't sign a contract for a casual job. Average part-time hours are 36 paid hours a week. Only management is full-time.

The pay is different, rates are not uniform throughout the company, it is negotiated on a brand by brand basis by the SDA.
