What do you mean by that? Do you mean working in the IBD, or working for a IB? People tend to get them confused, but either way its competitive.
Generally you have 1 yr of being a grad, then you have a 3.5 year analyst stint, then do an MBA or PhD then go be an assosciate.
Honours is easy to get into. But getting selected into the MBBS is based on first 2 years of med sci. i.e. your wam. I wouldnt rely on it, as iirc its only 15 ppl who make it. But at least you can try for grad courses afterwards if you want.
Actually in medical sciences there are quite a lot of anglo girls. It's quite diverse, a few indonesian internationals, lots of anglos, fair few asians, some indians etc...
The thing is the traders I have spoken to have finance degrees. (not that I have spoken to many).
And actually what would be better? The com degree then the msc in financial maths or a bsc/bcom?
Thanks. Econometrics sound more applied to finance though. Not sure if I should bother with another year of uni for the bsc, when I guess you could do a masters in financial math in the same time, and have two shots at grad programs?
What is better a BCom (finance/econometrics) (maybe with honours?) or a BCom(finance)/Bsc(maths). Bear in mind the later is 4 years. Which would be better if you are an aspiring trader (factor in the portability of the degree since getting a grad trading position is small).
So you mean just M&A? Dont see why you are mad, are you wanting to be an investment banker and don't like sales/trading? Not real solid just quoting one job as an example. And 114 hours came from surgeons working 3x more than nurses.
And once again templar is talking out of his ass.
Sigh. Turtlefaces figures are way off the mark. I know quite a few euro ibankers who do 60 hours a week. Traders and sales people. Doctors don't always get overtime. At quite a few city hospitals, you dont get it. Surgeons dont work 114 hours a week.
They have numerate degrees, are full of energy, have a strong interest in financial markets, are well composed under pressure, dont over analyse, can pick trends, are quick thinkers, are confident.
And wear nice suits.
I'll clear it up. The 7 years of EFTSL is not worth worrying about since I doubt you would actually need that time to complete a 3 yr degree. You would be kicked out before than (excluded for 2 years to be precise). Rekkusu, you will be fine. I think you have been reading too much MSO ;)
Different unis are recognised in different countries. The fact that UNewcastle has a Bmed degree, instead of the conventional naming of MBBS or MBChB makes no difference.
