Yeah, if you're willing then just do the stuff that isn't history-y but not much of it will be useful. I guess. Well physics in sem 1 is mainly 4U mechanics and Thermodynamics (which is learned in first sem Chem as well so you don't really need any b/g phys knowledge). Well, you'll be fine...

yeah, that summarises it nicely. Otherwise the cutoffs for all the courses would be higher and many courses would go unfilled because people would get offers but not actually ever intend on doing the course.

Some unis allocate a cutoff. It depends on the course. Engineering degrees at UNSW are given cutoffs of 91, law at ANU is 96 (iirc), advanced science at USyd, UNSW, UoW, etc. are given a cutoff of 95, and advanced courses and law courses at UWS are given cutoffs of 90.

Put it first and you'll definitely get in. Don't stress.

HSC physics is pretty useless to engineering at uni as long as you've done extension one or two maths.
