The HSC Music 2007 Chatter Thread

Hello 2007ers! Welcome to the music forum! In past years this forum was able to make a lot of connections and good friends, especially 2004 and 05 where many met up at their conservatoriums, or even went to gigs with each other! 2006 I think 2 people who wanted to go to the QLD conservatorium...

    Does God exist?

Surely when a paralysed man walks again, you question how rather than assume it is God's doing? Do you feel its right to explore how such a miracle came about it the objective sense? I would say it doesn't question whether it is God's doing: eg "his once torn spinal cord appears to have grown...

Belief in evolution around the world

I agree, although some may argue that this is an example of natural selection, not evolution. Yes natural selection is the large element in the evolution theory, but vast changes that appear to be far removed from just the small "improvements" of natural selection are what non-evolutionists do...

Is Music Extension HARD HARD! ???

With Composition, its actually to compose 2 pieces to a certain length. Its been years, I'd have to patch up on the Music Ext guidelines. I suggest you do what you feel you best know. Composition is fun yes, and Musicology could be interesting, but it sounds like Performance is your...

Do You Think You'll Do A Postgraduate Degree?

For some reason postgraduate degrees that are Research based (as opposed to Coursework) are free at our uni, provided that you finish them in the set amount of time? Is this across other universities?

    New NCAP Moderator

Prior to my application I wanted to moderate the forum on the sidelines and hence focussed on the moderating side than the opinion side. But now I do believe I could achieve a balance. Also, I was concerned with members who would feel I'd be too biased, in which case, in the past, I may have...

North Korea presses on nuclear test

This thread has been closed because of the following: This thread seems to have gone off tangent. There is another thread discussing N Korea conducting the nuclear test, rather than "pressing" on it...

    New NCAP Moderator

Dear NCAP visitors and regulars, As you might already know, Generator/Josh has recently resigned from moderating the News Current Affairs and Politics forum. He's done an incredible job, and surely irreplaceable. I'm sure he has been missed by many. He and other moderators have recommended...

    Does God exist?

This thread's tangent is ridiculous. I suggest everyone review the Forum Guidelines before continuing to post within this thread, particularly Section 1, 3 and 4. Also, please go back on topic. Try to identify the difference between discussions of religious criticism between the existence of...

    Deliberate Bushfires

A few weeks ago, I was in Ulladulla and I was totally engulfed in smoke. Traffic was a standstill and all we could do was sit there and breathe through a cloth. We were four hours behind from our destination (Victoria). And to our dismay, we heard the fire was delibretley lit. And its quite...

    Homosexuality in Australia

I agree with you to an extent, although I feel that it still has a long way to go. Decades even.

Do You Think You'll Do A Postgraduate Degree?

I've been thinking a lot about postgraduate degrees, been talking to a lot of people, phone calls etc. I'd like to do a Masters in Design Science (Audio & Acoustics) @ USYD... It's another 1.5 years full time. Anyone else considering Masters, Diploma etc? If so, when? Straight after the...

    Why do people hate religion?

I agree the thread is constructed poorly, in reference to the thread title and the question it asks in its initial post, far removed from "hating a religion". Being non-religious does not mean you hate religion. As well as that, "hating" or "not approving" religion is not exclusive to atheists...

    The Departed

I just saw it. The trailer does NOT do it justice. I absolutely love Dignum's (sp?) character. The "angry" cop in which you "have to get use to".

    Cheating

I too feel the word "slut" has no boundaries, but its undeniable that it is more commonly for females. That's to do with social and gender values that are more or less unchanged, with the "thanks" to both genders.

    Why do people hate religion?

On these forums, perhaps atheists are louder, I agree. Although in the real world, where you compare the religious with the atheists, religious people are louder. Atheists don't come door knocking or stand by town hall with booklets :)
