Do u think that it is possible?

UAI seeker shows you how UAC scales it. There is nothing to stop you getting a HSC mark over 90. However, UAC takes this mark and scales it down for the purposes of your UAI. But your HSC certificate document will say band 6.

    Post HSC exam depression

Don't let yourself stress. I went into a similar mode before my modern history exam, was sure that I was gonna stuff it up and went searching through the UAC guide for courses with the lowest UAIs cos I thought it was the end. But Ive calmed down now. HSC exam marks usually suprise people who...

    18th December

The purpose of UAC scaling marks is so that all marks are equal. For example, it is a lot easier to get a mark of 90 in food tech than it is in physics. So whereas phyics will keep that mark of 90 (cos you UAC considers it hard to get that mark compared with other subjects) food tech will get...

    Post HSC exam depression

Actually, the reason you are depressed is that suddenly, everything you worked towards for two years is now over. No more pressure, no more study, no more HSC. To compensate for these lost feelings your brain is telling you that you didn't try hard enough or do well enough or whatever. Try and...

    UAI ballpark

Nope not 95 with those subjects. But certainly low 90s.

screwed an exam... how will this effect overall??

Well your subjects aren't exactly high scaling ones. That was really the wrong question to stuff up in Modern, its 30 marks worth! But theres no point worrying now, you can't change it, theres no point stressing yourself. Just get on with life.

    HSC English Extension 1

We did crime fiction and did Snow Falling on Cedars (which I never read), The Real Inspector Hound (this was absolutely awesome!) and The Big Sleep (meh, film noir YUK). Its a really easy elective and really easy to get good marks, doesn't require a lot of effort.

I think it was a typo.... Anywayz I'll be looking at my UAI before I look at my results. I don't want to spend a day of torture trying to guess my UAI. So alas, when everyone is getting their results on the 18th, I will be trying to opccupy myself some other way to wait till the 19th. And...

    do u think teachers?

ummmm what has it got to do with then? I don't care if my teachers come here (theres only one I think that would anyway) and if they do its alright cos no one here knows what school I go to or even what my name is so they have no hope! Suckerz!

Which Government NS is gonna come TOP in the HSC?

Yeah Cheltenham Girls is usually the first non-selective government school. I hear Riverside Girls is pretty good too.

Our Whole Class Is Gettin Misadventure

I never said it was the students duty. In a perfect world the school would have bowed to your every whim and fancy, but unfortunately the school system is flawed, and so if a student is serious about their learning they should be the ones to make sure they have sufficient tuition. You can't just...

    fuck that was easy

those that will get the higher marks will be those that attempted to include historiography. Also, if the board deems it to be an easier test than in previous years, marks will be scaled down. Don't get your hopes up just yet....

i thought it was hard =(

Hehe I didn't mean to scare you guys, Im sure we've got some amazing modern history students here, Im just saying not to be complacent that you will get an amazing mark because the questions were deceptive.

i thought it was hard =(

My teacher, the most Senior marker at the Sydney marking centre said many kids will actually have a lot of problems with this exam, thinking it was really easy or at least not too challenging, and they will get marks that will disappoint them. He said the questions were deliberately very loaded...

    is it just me?

I smiled after I finished each section, realising that Id never have to study that as a HSC subject again. The supervisor ladies probably thought I was weird with a huge grin on my face in a HSC exam.

    Germany

Actually, technically we could. In the old HSC we couldn't cos the spread of marks had to fit the bell curve, but in this standards-based assessment, if we all reached the top criteria they would have to give us all 100.

    Germany

I REALLY wanted to do the democracy one cos I really like the Weimar period and was really studied up on it, but it was too narrow to get a substantial essay out of, considering also that most historians say the depression didn't play a substantial or direct part. So I did good old Nazi society.
