Sections III, IV : Extended Response

I referred pretty heavily to the NAIRU in Qu 26. 28 I compared China and AIEs, trading blocs, negative externalities of globalisation, questioned the rise in overall utility and surmised that it was the incomplete application of globalisation that resulted in degenerating economic development...

What is Okun's law and how important is it?

Difference between those figures is the theoretical rate that unemployment will fall. It's important because it shows the correlation between labour productivity, unemployment and economic growth - and you can never have enough formulas. Unsurprisingly, Dixon doesn't mention it.

    Csi

Sounds pretty good to me - you've discussed the evolution of conventions well, and I think there's more than enough textual referencing in there to support what you've written. Here's what I've got on CSI - written as a response to 2003's essay question. The television series CSI is a slick...

    extra time in exams

Well, let's see. I get special provisions (laptop) because after writing for more than thirty seconds my wrist starts to hurt. After about five minutes, I literally can barely hold a pen and my handwriting is past illegible and into downright incomprehensible. This is due to overly tight...

Module A - In the Wild

This is pretty much what I did, hopefully with a bit better integration. Really surprising question - I'd never seen anything like it. Mind you, with everyone else saying how broad it was it shouldn't matter overly. So yay!

How many pages did you write?

Yup, typed I did: A: 3 B: 2.5 c: 2.5 I think that works out a shade over 4000 words. Plenty, in my opinion - keyboard was flat 'cause someone had broke the supports and my wrists hurt. I usually do about 11 typed for a full legal studies exam, so tomorrow may involve bleeding.

Module A - In the Wild

Am I the only one who was completely and utterly thrown? It took me more than 20 minutes to get into the swing of things, and I wasn't exactly under-prepared (every past paper done and then some). Ah well. Talked about empathy, relevance, allegorical nature etc. etc.

    National Undergrad...

Apparently so. Maybe I should just move to queensland... I can imagine just squeaking over 99 but I'm not looking at anything like the 99.4 posted earlier. Sigh. Oh well, there's always transfer... EDIT: Oh! And completely off-topic, thanks for posting those legal studies notes...

'Journeys Over Land and Sea' ?!

Have a look at the second illustration. Anthropomorphised suns moons etc. Now think Coleridge's romantic ideology/panthiesm etc

'Talent and drive, but no money? Forget uni' (The Age)

Amazing that someone who is getting everything paid for them is of such an opinon. America's system is geared towards those who achieve so brilliantly that they can achieve a scholarship, and those who can afford it. I'm probably not the former, and I'm certainly not the latter. I'll take HECS...

    Generic essay for journeys

Eh, kinda prepared. I make a list of concepts/techniques and an overiding theme for imaginative journeys so it's a matter of basically stringing it all together. You should've written enough practise essays that it all just flows naturally together

Who's the YOUNGEST 2005 HSC Student in here?

29/03/89 So I'll sit the HSC at 16 and a half. UAI predictor says somewhere between 98.5-99.6, so go figure.

    National Undergrad...

I actually emailed the office for the scholarships and I was told a range between 98-100 get taken for it. I imagine it would also depend on the course you've applied for - unless they just take the top 27?
