It's kinda insulting to know that you think anyone who's not japanese-looking will only end up speaking "dumbed-down" japanese, to put it in your words. Really trivialises what we're all trying to achieve here. By the way may I ask how you became so good at English? I might sound a little...
Takuya am I wrong here in saying that a solid year of immersion in Japan would benefit someone a million times more than any amount of time spent here studying from a textbook?
Hopefully I'll be in Japan in 2007, as part of the B.Bus / BA in International Studies @ UTS
Just so you know, my teacher gave this essay 10/10. It was amongst a bundle of 7 essays that I handed in and got him to mark, he gave them all 9 or 10 out of 10
on the 7th after ext eng im gona go to the beach, swim, lie on the sand and stare at the sky, realise how much ive just accomplished, then im gona go out and get so incredibly drunk, gona bacardi it all night long until the sun comes up :D
I'll break the Jap cycle here (sorry) and say that using "kuse ni" is a clever trick to impress the markers... the same as using "yotei" instead of "tsumori", am i right? :D
JList.com >> cool jap stuff
IF anyone here hasn't heard of www.jlist.com, GO THERE NOW. It's run by this American guy living in Japan, he sells all sorts of wacky Jap sh*t, including some really mad t-shirts.
I ordered these ones...
extension no shiken de ii ten wo toreruyouni, iroiro na renshuu no shiken wo suruyo. soreni, yoku MSN dewa nihon ni sundeiru tomodachi to shaberu koto ga dekirunode, kitto ii benkyou ni naruhazu dayo-- !!!!
Also, those notes where I wrote "TAKUSANARU" that was another typo - i meant to write "TAKUSAN ARU"
and saying "surukototameni" sounds a lot weirder than "suruyouni" - the "youni" structure is "in order to" where as "tameni" is "for the sake of" .... but im sure u already knew that :D...
yeah maybe you are too tired, because you questioned a structure i got from my Japanese teacher (iru shougaisha) it means "some disabled people"...... so yeah i dun wana sound unappreciative but he's been in the game for 15years...thanks but :)
