    Need your opinions please!

Sorry if my previous post sounded negative, it wasnt meant to be in the slightest! Sorry hun! And I thought you were going for a semester - but a whole year! Thats the normal amount the uni gives you - its somewhere between 3 - 4 grand per semester, so that explain the $7000 you're getting. So...

    Texts for Legal Referencing?

In my experience, how you've referenced it is fine: pinpoint references are only ever used for direct quotes. But, just to cover all your bases, I'd edit the paragraph so Mason's judgement flows right in from the 'far fetched and fanciful' bizo. And I'd save your word/page count by referencing...

    Need your opinions please!

Nice choice with Mexico, I think it would be great! I think the 7 grand is because of the poor standard of living and high violence/crime/rape/other attractive things. Back to your origial question because I like to procrastinate: If there was no restrictions, I'd go to Europe - either Russia...

    Last day of uni tomorrow!

^^ like my two law ones. Bastards. Its always due in the holidays :( And then I have psych due the second week back. Double boo. So its a week to work on each assignment, all worth a decent 30 - 40%. No holidays for Ivy.... I'm hoping to get enough out of the way so I dont feel guilty taking...

    Draft exam timetable out!

I'm happy with mine: LAW314 (take home) due 14th LAW316 22nd PSY306 28th I'm liking the week between each one... It will get boring, but I'm sure to pass :D

    Q about wireless

Ciel, I NEVER get reception in the library anymore on wireless. Its so crap, I've complained to the IT people, but never got a reply  I dont see the point in advertising wireless if the only place you get reception is outside where its freezing, there are no desks or seats and your...

    Psychology Courses

It's nice having first years here now to answer these questions. I, and the other third year psych students, barely have enough time to eat, let alone answer such an important thread coherently! Ta james87 :)

    Fraser again...

^^ Apparently he is fantastic. Its a shame he's gone, I would have preferred doing public law now after struggling through 7 weeks of boring const :( I saw a tiny little mention of this in SMH, on the 10th page (just before the world news) on the side. It was about 5 cm long :P

Marxine's Iced Chocolate = Not worth it!

I got ripped off badly on Monday night. Steve and I went to some fancy bar on Bond St and I ordered an iced chocolate. What do I get? A 1/3rd sized frickin chocolate milkshake! And a crappy one at that! No cream, no sprinkles, no spoon, just chocolate syrup and milk. And it cost $4.50. I hate it...

    Daily Telegraph people

I think what you said was fair, and said nicely. Its not like you were blunt and horrible. I think it takes the edge off when you pad such a comment with "I know its your job" :) Does anyone listen to Hack on JJJ? At QLD Uni Red Bull came in at the end of some engineering lecture and prattled...

    macq student council

Hmm... in all my subjects, quotes have been counted in the wordcount, as have in-text references. Footnotes only are if they specify that. So maybe you should actually check with the coordinator or tutor. As Pwar said, using long quotes, or too many quotes is bad practise. All it shows is that...

    macq student council

Oi! Get back to your forum! :p As Marchetta said, linguistic's has a program thingo where they can read over what you've written and give you some feedback. Obviously they cannot write it in any shape or form: they merely provide you with feedback. There also used to be a writing thingo...

    Breakfast?

Where is the nana bread from? I loooove banana bread! Bakers is over near Franklins... If you walk up to the next level from the food court, and keep heading over towards the right side of the centre, its over there. It's kinda hard to explain if you've never been there before. If you walk out...

How lazy are we really at Club Mac?

Every day I spend at least 5-8 hours working. I have a psych test in week 7, a law essay due week 8, and two other assignments (law and psych report) due week 9/10... :( But at least it will all be over by early May, and then I can cruise and just make notes with my spare time (rather than...

    A social Proposal!!!!!

Agreed. High School is a time of my life which I'd rather forget about. Especially the drunken parties. I'd much rather go to a cocktail bar and act my age. Plus, sex on the beach is terribly uncomfortable with all that sand... As is to be expected at a beach. But I would like to see...

Working at a Law firm different experience then Uni?

Agreed. Nothing in reality is as cut and dry as the hypotheticals we're given in class. Its a totally different world. I love its intricacy, and the depth clients stories and experience add to it. No doubt when I'm dealing with it 40+ hours a week, I'll be over it! :D

    Law Week

Apparently there was a clerkship stuffup last year, which resulted in a heap of third years from MQ getting clerkships at places like Claytons and HDY. They "underbooked" or something (believing that the demand would be as high as other years), but students accepted positions at different firms...

    Law Week

Gadens! Thats it! Ta Frigid :D I got that treatment too. They are really excited to talk to you until they realise that you're only third year. We have just as much right to be there as everyone else! Clayton were *so* rude, so I just took one of their crappy bags and left. And I didnt like...

    Law Week

I second the law careers day at Darling harbour - thats where I get my stationary for the year! ... And you get really helpful advice. Really. If you're lucky enough to find a graduate who isnt too hyped up on the lollies they are handing out, like that...um... It begins with a "g" and they...
