The clips I've gotten are .wmv so they play on Windows Media Player. It says in the Extension 2 Syllabus booklet that I got that "programs must run on Macintosh OR Windows operating systems". So if yours can't work on Apple/Macintosh - just specify that you want it shown on a Windows XP...
I would memorize for an essay:
- ideas: make sure you have a clear understanding of the ideas you want to talk about.
- techniques/quotes (followed by effect): that support the idea.
- key sophisticated phrases: ones you can keep handly and stick in, if during the exam you find it hard to...
I'm doing a website and inserting some video clips into it. But I'm not sure what format the clips should be in. What players are the markers computers' expected to have? Like will they have Quicktime and Real Player or just Windows Media Player?
100 words should be alright...just as long as it isn't really noticable.
Thank god - I'm don't have to worry about wordcount or I'd be so screwed (I've written like over 10000 words and I'm not even finished!). I'm doing critical writing but in the form of a website - so there's no word...
Had it today too....I don't think our school did any of the same papers as what you're describing.
Q1 - pretty easy as expected.
Q2 - Journeys have unexpected outcomes...showed a bunch of stimuli and picked one to write anything. Pretty easy too.
Q3 - I did physical: Debate speech...
There was a discussion about it here.

I only know one: The Road Not Taken. I highly doubt they would specify...but now I'm worried because I know NOTHING about the other texts!
I'm doing The Road Not Taken - yeah, yeah...it's overused but I'm going to use it - because its easy to analyze and was basically the first thing I saw when I opened the booklet (duh, it's on the first page).
I'm memorizing ideas, phrases, techniques and quotes - then manipulating it...
To compare the school laboratory and industrial saponification conditions - I looked at the link but I'm still confused. Do we compare the school to the Kettle Batch AND Fatty Acid Neutralization? Or just to one?
Like me  . But if you manage to get originality in your argument, ideas and writing style - then I think it'll be fine. I'm not sure about Lies, but Homer: Bad Man is quite easily to analyze and you'll get probably get decent marks - but if you want to aim for better, try to up the...
The sexual harrassment with the gummi Venus? That's a good idea: "The media's making a monster out of you because they don't care about the truth! All they care about is entertainment." (Lisa). The episode is called Homer Bad Man. I'm doing it too. :uhhuh:
I thought it was better to integrate it all. So mine has been structured like this:
Idea..blah blah...
- how it is shown in Frontline ep
- how it is shown in RM
Link back to idea.
But I'm not sure whether we're supposed to, for each idea, talk about BOTH RM and all 3 (or 2) eps of...
I think it's pretty much up to you if you want to talk about the WHOLE website or just a single article. I'm doing The Simpsons series on a whole as ONE text - but I'm basically focusing on 2 episodes only. If you talk about the website in general and then pick out specifics to examine in-depth...
Both. I think you're supposed to examine the techniques used by the Frontline characters to make their "news" - talk about how they, as composers, manipulate and construct the "truth". Then you expand out of that and talk about how this also means that the composers of Frontline (the text) can...
Our reports were due last term - so I guess I can consider the RS pretty "done" - but our reports were especially focused up on the "independent research and investigation process", rather than a "reflective" kinda of writing.
I haven't even finished my MW so my RS is pretty much 2nd priority.
My EE1 teacher is FORCING us all to hand write our prac essays from now on - she won't accept anything typed. :(
I have really bad writing and am quite slow - as I found out when I tried to handwrite a practice during last week.
I tend to grip the pen really tightly and press really hard...
Seen the trailer - and it looks different from the "typical King Kong" movie....so hey - will check it out. Plus - I'm curious....WHY are there dinosaurs and creepy pygmie children on the island?! o.O
I'm apparently 2/5 done - but now I have no idea because I've been told to do MORE pieces...I don't even know what my idea is anymore! *despair*....it seems the more I do - the more my teachers tells me to do...T.T
