Hi there, It's best to use credible websites (usually governmental, organisational websites) e.g. The Butterfly Foundation. Try to find some statistics to get you started (Make sure they're Australian, e.g. ABS), and maybe try the library/browse some magazines to get ideas for your project.
I got early admission myself and I am not too sure what the statistics are. I suppose it all depends on the popularity and demand of the course. As long as you're marks are solid (or shown considerable improvement) and you seem interested in your interview you should be right :D

Campus accommodation is pretty pricey. Try looking at share houses. I'd recommend looking at the UOW Students buy & sell Facebook page and express your interest on there.
I usually type mine up as writing is too time consuming. But if I was doing practice papers/essays I would handwrite. Typing allows it to be easily edited, organised and kept in the same place. It's also much neater.
