Hi guys,
It does not need to be your first preference but rather if we walked down your preferences and lets say you don't get your first and second preference but you happen to be successful with the third preference and your ATAR is at or above the GE then you are GE for that third...
Firstly, people would say avoid FINS1613 in semester 2 due to the lecturer, seemingly harder assessments, better administration and easier time in semester 1 although it is still doable. Doing it in 2nd year will not ruin your finance major as long you complete all 8 finance courses within your...
Have a read of the handbook for a finance major.
http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/plans/2017/FINSA13502.html
For finance major you need to complete 4 compulsory courses and choose 4 elective courses. In terms of which semester to take, you shouldn't think of which one will boost...
I heard differently and people would've preferred S2 for FINS2624 since S1 goes into more depth with black scholes. Please keep in mind OP that the lecturer in charge for S1 is no longer at UNSW so there will be a completely different lecturer in charge next year for S1.
FINS1612 is 95%...
ACTL2102 - Midterm was scaled to a CR average but nothing else was scaled.
FINS3616 (S2 2016) - Only the finals was scaled up by 8 marks to make up for having no partial marks (even for the short answer calculations). Nothing else was scaled. Please note this was the first time the LIC took...
No but it will definitely help you transition into uni in some ways since you would also encounter a few concepts learnt in business studies say like E.G. Balance sheet will be in 1st year accounting.
Robert Tumarkin you mean, yes it seems he is returning next sem as LIC and he is probably the best lecturer (definitely for finance) admistrates and teaches extremely well. He was one in charge in semester 1 in previous years and is reputatively easier than semester 2's lecturer. However...
78-80.
Again like I said with the 2U exam, there weren't any "I've never seen this before" questions and where if you did past hsc exams like 2004 where that tide question was harder with this years, this exam did not seem to abuse the difficulty. I honestly thought the introduction of the...
2013 I reckon was one of the most difficult exams for 2u as well as the exams between 2001 and 2008 where the last questions were extremely hard. Good luck guys. :)
Nothing is capped where the idea of maximum means that during a particular year that was the highest ATAR earned by a student who did English Standard that counted towards their ATAR.
Depends who's the lecturer in charge for 1612. I know both sems for this year the assessments will be the same but two different lecturers but according to the reviews semester 2's lecturers aren't as good as semester 1. And yes 1613 is horrible in sem 2 but that doesn't mean its not doable.
